Driver Injured After Grease Tanker Overturns Near Cross Plains

CROSS PLAINS TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) A multi-axle grease tanker overturned near Cross Plains Tennessee Thursday morning injuring the driver.

The accident occurred in the 4000 block of  Woodrow Wilson Rd just before 4 am.  LOCATION OF CRASH

According to Cross Plains Fire Chief Tommy Jackson, the tanker left the roadway and overturned onto its side. The tanker was not fully loaded and created minimal hazards at the crash site.

The driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash was not immediately available. No other injuries were reported, according to Robertson County Emergency Management Director Chance Holmes.

One lane of Woodrow Wilson Rd was open but expect delays for several hours this morning and expect the road to intermittently close while the vehicle is uprighted and removed.

The Cross Plains Fire Department, the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Department all responded to the scene.
