Driver Injured In Large Dump Truck Rollover In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A local mechanic was injured following a rollover accident involving a large commercial dump truck Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, the 65 year old mechanic with Quality Mobile Maintenance was on a test drive when he failed to negotiate a left turn onto William A Batson Blvd from Old 431. MAP

Officials said, as the driver made the turn, the large truck with a load of sand began to tip over rolling completely over onto it’s roof. Somehow the driver was not critically injured and was able to crawl out on his own.

The driver was transported to an area hospital in fair condition. Officials said he was banged up but should recover.

The call to 911 came in at 1:16pm but due to the nature of the accident it took several hours to investigate the crash, right the vehicle and clear the scene.

Due to the sheer weight of the vehicle, the nature of the crash and position, Dad’s Towing was called in. The company utilized a 70,000 lb tow truck to right the vehicle.
