Driver Survives Fiery Rollover Crash At Veteran’s Motorplex

GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Willie Coats, car number 71, has survived a fiery rollover crash at Veterans Motorplex in Greenbrier Saturday night.

Coming out of turn two heading into the backstretch Coats encountered a tire on the track. The tire sent the car airborne and into a rollover crash. Following the crash, the car ignited and track officials pulled Coats from the burning wreckage.

Coats was transported to Skyline Medical Center in fair condition. He reportedly may have a broken rib.

UPDATE: According to track official’s the driver is OK.

“Willie is bruised up but thanks to a well-built roll-cage and good safety equipment there was no broken bones or ribs.”

“We appreciate the excellent work from the Veterans Motorplex safety team lead by Paul Harter and the EMTs on staff for there quick response to the accident and good care they gave to Willie as they got him out of his car”
