Driver Survives Fiery Rollover Crash Near White House
WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Hwy 76 was closed for about an hour following a fiery rollover crash Monday evening.
The crash occurred on Hwy 76 between Herbert Shannon and Maxie Jones Rd around 10:30 pm. MAP
Officials estimate the vehicle rolled about three times after leaving the roadway as it careened through a fence before hitting a tree and bursting into flames. When firefighters arrived the vehicle was engulfed in flames but the driver was already out of the vehicle.
The driver (a 59-year-old Springfield man) was transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield non-emergency via ground with non-critical injuries. Officials tell Smokey Barn News that the driver got out of the vehicle on his own and was helped by a neighbor as the vehicle ignited.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
The White House City Fire Department, the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.
This was the second rollover crash in Robertson County Monday. Around 2 pm Monday afternoon a woman was hospitalized following a rollover crash in Greenbrier after impacting a guitar-shaped mailbox that caused her vehicle to overturn. FULL STORY AND PHOTOS
