Dry Conditions Trigger Fire Risk Warning in Robertson County
ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE (SMOKEY BARN NEWS): Firefighters have already responded to several brush and grass fires across the county today, as dry conditions continue to increase the risk of rapidly spreading fires. The Robertson County Emergency Management Agency is urging residents to limit or postpone outdoor burning at this time.
Officials say current conditions are highly favorable for fires to spread quickly, raising the risk of uncontrolled wildfires. Anyone who must burn is reminded that a valid burn permit is required and all state and local regulations must be followed. Residents should also check with their local municipality for any additional restrictions.
Authorities stress that fires should never be left unattended and that water or proper tools should be kept nearby to extinguish flames quickly if needed. Even small fires can become dangerous under these conditions.
If you see a fire that appears to be out of control, call 911 immediately.
Officials say using extreme caution will help protect the community, property, and first responders.
