Early Morning Fire Ignites Adams Home

ADAMS TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Local Firefighters made an incredible save after an early morning fire tore through an Adams area home early Thursday.

The home is located on Goodman Rd near Port Royal Rd in Adams. The first call came into 911 at 4:44 am.  MAP

Firefighters made an aggressive attack and saved much of the home, largely containing the fire to the home’s attic. According to Adams Fire Chief Ray Brown, the cause of the fire is still under investigation but so far his team is leaning towards the home’s front porch as a starting point for the fire that then made its way into the attic.

The Adams Fire department, with the aid of North Robertson Fire & Rescue, the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, Robertson County EMS, and the Robertson County Sheriff’s office (as a team) made a “great stop” according to Chief Brown.

“Normally when a fire has moved up into a home’s attic you don’t get them out that quick. Everyone did an outstanding job.” Brown Said.

According to Chief Brown, about 30 to 40 percent of the home has a combination of fire, smoke, and water damage. “The important thing is that everyone made it out safely.”
