Electrolux Confirms Second Employee Has COVID-19, Still Set To Open Sun
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The Electrolux Manufacturing facility in Springfield closed Thursday following the discovery that one of their employees tested positive for COVID-19. FULL STORY Now the firm has confirmed with Smokey Barn News that a second employee has tested positive for the virus.
“We learned today of a second employee who confirmed positive for coronavirus and immediately let employees know. The factory has been closed since Thursday to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees,” the firm said in a statement.
“The factory will restart normal operations tomorrow, Sunday, May 3. This closure allowed professional crews to fog, sanitize and disinfect the building. In addition, we have already implemented many safety steps including temperature scans, protective barriers, increased janitorial cleaning, sanitizing in high-traffic, high touch common areas, social distancing and face masks.” Eloise Hale – Corporate Communications Executive with Electrolux North America

Electrolux told Smokey Barn News that they became aware of the first case from the employee who received a positive diagnosis of COVID-19.
Back on March 22, Electrolux announced that the firm had sent three of it’s Springfield employees home due to exposure to a supplier that tested positive for the Coronavirus. According to Electrolux back in March, the supplier was only in a small adjacent building and never in the main factory, adding that the adjacent building had been thoroughly sanitized and disinfected.
