Elvis Presley’s Stepmother (Dee Presley) Dies, She Was 88
MADISON TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Davada Mae Stanley (Dee) Presley, stepmother to Elvis Presley, has died. Dee passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013, she was 88. Born Tuesday, June 16, 1925, in Waverly Tennessee, Dee is preceded in death by her husbands, William J. Stanley and Vernon Presley.
Dee and Elvis’s father Vernon were married in Huntsville, Ala., in 1960, two years after the death of Gladys Presley, Vernon Presley’s first wife and the mother of Elvis. They were married for 17 years until they divorced.
They divorced three months after the death of Elvis on November 15th, 1977. Elvis died on August 16 of that same year. Vernon Presley (Elvis’s father) died two years later on June 26th, 1979.
A homemaker living in Madison TN, Dee is survived by her sons, Billy (Monica) Stanley, Jr., Rev. Rick Stanley, David Stanley; grandchildren, Brooke, Austin, Tyler, Brittany, Bethany; great-grandchild, Talon.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Stanley and Bro. Ken Green officiated. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends gathered to remember Mrs. Presley at a visitation that was held Wednesday, October 2, 2013, from 12:00 until 2:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 S. Dickerson Rd Goodlettsville, TN
