Fatal I65 Crash Near Millersville Claims One

MILLERSVILLE, TENNESSEE, (Smokey Barn News) –  – A Goodlettsville man has died following a fatal rollover crash on I65 near Millersville Thursday afternoon.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is leading the investigation, according to their preliminary report the crash occurred just before 2:30 p.m. at mile marker 103. LOCATION OF CRASH

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that David Kuczinski, 57, lost control of his 2022 Ford Ranger pickup truck while traveling north on I-65. The vehicle struck a guardrail on the left shoulder, resulting in an overturn and coming to rest on the driver’s side. On impact, Kuczinski’s vehicle flipped over the guardrail.  Despite wearing a seatbelt, Kuczinski tragically lost his life in the crash. No further details have been provided.

According to Millersville Fire Chief Chief Brandon Head, Kuczinski may have experienced a medical emergency.

An off-duty firefighter stopped to try to render aid and called it in but Kuczinski was unresponsive, according to Chief Head. EMS accessed Kuczinski while he was still inside the overturned truck and started medical care. Millersville Firefighters extricated Kuczinski from truck within four minutes from start to finish, Head added.

According to Chief Head, CPR was performed on Kuczinski all the way to Skyline Medical Center but EMS and hospital staff were not able to resuscitate him.  Kuczinski was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The Millersville Police Department, the Millersville Fire Department, Sumner County EMS, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and TDOT all responded to the scene.
