Father, Son Involved In Deadly Goodlettsville Shooting

GOODLETTSVILLE, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – One person is dead, and another was critically injured following a shooting on Graceland Drive in Goodlettsville Saturday evening.
According to Metro Nashville Police at the scene who are leading the investigation, the shooting involved a father and son. One person was pronounced deceased, and the other was transported to an area hospital.
Sources tell Smokey Barn News that the person transported to the hospital was in very critical condition. Authorities have not officially identified which of the two was killed or released the condition of the surviving victim.
The incident drew a large police and emergency response to Graceland Drive, and traffic was diverted as authorities conducted their investigation. Authorities indicated there was no ongoing danger to the surrounding community. Smokey Barn News believes the shooting stemmed from a domestic situation.

UPDATE: Metro Police Identify Victims, Confirm Murder-Suicide
Metro Nashville Police have released additional details regarding Saturday’s shooting on Graceland Drive.
According to the MNPD Homicide Unit, investigators determined that Stephen Slater, 74, shot his stepson, John D. Norman, 49, before shooting himself. Both men lived at the residence.
Police said Slater’s wife called 911. First responders found Slater deceased at the scene. Norman was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Metro Police have classified the incident as a domestic-related murder-suicide.
