SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A home located just outside of White House is a total loss after a fire that started around 5:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
No one was home at the time of the fire. The home is located in the 3000 block of Maxie Jones Rd. The occupants, four children and their parents, were on vacation.
According to Cross Plains Fire Chief Tommy Jackson, the fire started in the kitchen and preliminary it was looking like the cause may have been electrical.
Firefighters from Cross Plains, White House and Orlinda all responded to the fire.
A local family member told Smokey Barn News that the family worked very hard for what they have, now they have lost everything. We believe the family was carrying insurance on the home but we are not sure if the contents were covered but if they do decide to go public with any needs we will bring it to you.
The family, on vacation, is driving home this evening. They are not expected to make it home until morning.
UPDATE: Mystery Man identified: It was Tim Tawater that saved the dog from the burning home. Tim is a Metro Nashville Firefighter that just happened by the home and knew just what to do.
