Former Robertson County Sheriff Daniel King Dies, He Was 79

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –  Smokey Barn News has confirmed that former Robertson County Sheriff  Dan King has died. King died at his home in Goodlettsville, TN on Wednesday after battling dementia for several years, he was 79.

Born in 1943 in Nashville, TN, King stood 6’4”, always wore a hat, and smoked a pipe with his signature Sir Walter Raleigh tobacco.  He attended Highland Academy in Portland, TN, and graduated from Hendersonville High School. Following high school, he joined the Air National Guard. He also attended law enforcement school and became a Tennessee State Trooper.

King lived in Ridgetop TN for forty years, where he and his wife Ann raised their two daughters. Dan was a top salesman at Payne Chevrolet in Springfield, TN, and sheriff of Robertson County from 1976 to 1980. In later years he drove eighteen-wheeler trucks and helped his wife open an antique store in Goodlettsville, TN, where he remained until his death.

Visitation for Dan will be held Monday, December 19, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday, December 20 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 Dickerson Rd., Goodlettsville, TN 37072.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Joanne Cash officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. King’s full online obituary
