FREE Storm Spotter Training Class In Springfield March 29th
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The US National Weather Service Nashville Tennessee will be hosting a Storm Spotter Training Class Thursday, March 29 at 6 PM – 8 PM at the Volunteer State Community College located at 150 Laureate Ave, Springfield, Tennessee 37172
NO TICKETS OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED – JUST SHOW UP!
This severe weather SKYWARN spotter training class is FREE and all ages are welcome!
The class will be taught by Sam Shamburger. Topics will include weather warnings, tornado activity, how to read clouds and their potential to produce sever weather among other weather related topics. Each student will be issued a number to be an official weather spotter and a number to call to report weather related activity in their area.
You’ll learn:
• Basics of thunderstorm development
• Fundamentals of storm structure
• Identifying potential severe weather features
• How to report information
• Basic severe weather safety
