Gideon Road Motorcycle Crash Turns Fatal
GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A motorcycle crash originally reported on July 18th has, unfortunately, turned deadly. The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) now reports that the rider, Timothy Butler, 64, has lost his life. Initially, authorities reported that Butler’s injuries were not life-threatening, but as can sometimes be the case, the true extent of injuries sustained in motorcycle accidents can be difficult to assess immediately. Tragically, this crash has now resulted in a fatality.
The incident occurred on Gideon Road near William Osborne Road in Robertson County. (LOCATION OF CRASH) According to the THP’s preliminary report, Mr. Butler, who was wearing a helmet, was riding a 2019 Kawasaki VN9 when he lost control while negotiating an uphill curve. The motorcycle ran off the road, struck a ditch, briefly went airborne, and came to rest in a second ditch after rotating 180 degrees.
Our previous report of the crash, based on the initial information from officials, indicated that Mr. Butler did not sustain life-threatening injuries. However, we now understand that Mr. Butler’s injuries were much more serious than initially thought, and he ultimately lost his life due to the mechanics of the crash.
We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Butler’s family and friends as they face the days ahead.
