Smokey Barn News Tuesday February 18, 2014 Springfield, Tenn.
R.C. is one million dollars closer to having a great Public Library
The Gorham-MacBane Public Library received a $1,000,000.00 check from Robertson County that will partially fund a long awaited upcoming expansion project.
Representatives from Robertson County government and members of the Library Board were on hand today to witness Mayor Howard Bradley present the check to Board Chairperson Cindy Sneed. We’re almost there!!!
Thank you, Robertson County for supporting YOUR Library!
“This is great step forward for all of Robertson County. Beside doubling our space, we will vastly increase our number of computers. So anxious to see dirt moving on White St.” Robertson County Mayor, Howard Bradley
Bradley also said, “The expectation is that the city of Springfield’s matching $1 million will follow shortly thereafter.”
Bradley expects a groundbreaking ceremony in early spring.

Howard Bradley holding a million dollar check like we have the money….. It might as well be a charge card because we are borrowing the money.
We could buy and tear down New town, South town and all of south main west to central with this kind of money and clean this city up and not need half the cops and firemen.
Instead we are getting what will amount to a 4.5 million dollar computer lab and antiquated book storage facility. Paper books will be obsolete in years to come as all media is digitized. I can think of tons better ways to spend this kind of money. I will always remember the old stuffed golden eagle, little rascal tapes, and the vintage playboy collection(this was always rumored to exist amongst teenage boys but I have not been back since I was 15 to ask to see it) Honestly how many people are in and out of there in a week. 4.5 million…. That’s a lot of money.
