Greenbrier Man Arrested on Multiple Felony Child Sex Charges

GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Greenbrier man is facing multiple felony charges following an arrest tied to an ongoing investigation involving alleged unlawful sexual contact with minors.

According to Detective Joseph Chelini with the Greenbrier Police Department, “on March 19, 2026, Detectives with the Greenbrier Police Department Criminal Investigations Division took 25-year-old James Mackenzie Gay into custody at his residence in Greenbrier, Tennessee.”

According to Chelini, Gay has been charged with “solicitation of a minor (under 18) for rape of a child” and “two counts of aggravated sexual battery (victim under 13).”

According to Chelini, “following his arrest, Gay was transported to the Robertson County Detention Facility, where he is currently being held without bond.”

Chelini stated the arrest “follows a thorough and ongoing investigation into allegations of unlawful sexual contact involving multiple minor victims ranging in age from 8 to 12,” adding that “due to the sensitive nature of the case and the ages of the victims, the Greenbrier Police Department will not be releasing any identifying information related to the victims.”

According to Chelini, “the investigation remains active and ongoing,” and “additional charges may be forthcoming as detectives continue to pursue all leads and evidence.”

Chelini added that the Greenbrier Police Department “remains committed to protecting children and holding offenders accountable,” and encourages “parents and guardians to remain vigilant in monitoring online activity and maintaining open communication with their children.”
