Greenbrier Man Dies In Fatal Hwy 41 Crash Early Sunday

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Greenbrier man lost his life Sunday in an early morning single-vehicle crash on Hwy 41 just outside Robertson County.

According to Metro Nashville’s official report, the crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. on HWY 41 near Baker Station Rd. LOCATION OF CRASH According to officials, David A. Blackwell, 43, of Greenbrier lost his life in the crash, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to police, preliminarily,  Blackwell,  driving his 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, was heading north on Springfield Highway (Hwy 41) when he entered a slight curve and, for reasons unknown, left the roadway and struck a wooden fence.

David’s wife, Crystal Blackwell, 39, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center with critical injuries.

Neighbors that heard the crash said it sounded like an explosion.

There was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene.

Smokey Barn News has learned that David “Andy” Blackwell survived a bout with COVID-19 that landed him in the hospital several months ago. The video below is the day he was released from NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield back in April. Directly below is a comment he made under the video thanking NorthCrest after his release.
