TBI investigate allegations that Billy Wilson misappropriated funds

VIDEO: According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the District Attorney General requested TBI investigate allegations that Billy Wilson misappropriated funds collected through a Toys for Tots campaign for his personal use. It seems all too rare these days to find citizens speaking up for their political leaders. I sincerely hope that Mayor Billy Wilson is not guilty and is found innocent by the State. Honest, decent, trust-worthy leaders are desperately needed.
If your Mayor is innocent and is found so, and if he is as good a man as so many here say he is, then please rally around him and know that you have something that not everyone has…a politician that actually cares about the people he serves.
If he is found innocent. I would like to come and shake his hand and personally thank him for his service to his town.
This is not true at all. I have known billy most of my life and I’m 24 now. When my mompassed last year (middle school crossing guard in greenbrier) he donated her resting place plus about 1000 dollars. If thus man was a crook he wouldn’t even help out anyone in the community. He’s made thus town better and not a dump anymore. Have anything mean to say please actually go sit down and have a convo with this man
Saw in the RobCo Times were springfield has alot of trouble trying to meet the toys for tots in that city…and served much less than greenbrier did. The mayor and fire department have busted their butts for years to raise money for the kids and looks to me like because he kept it in greenbrier and didnt send the bulk of it to springfield (whom dont really do half the fund raising greenbrier did) someoen there got their knickers in a twist and made up stuff. If the Mayor Billy truelly was guilty of anything its giving out of his own pocket to make sure that those in greenbrier were taken care of. It ticks me off that sp;ringfield gets the bulk of almost everything while other cities put more in the county pot and recieve less. Thats my two cents..take it or leave it.

This is stupied he would never he. Saved my granny’s life. Very many times an has helped my family when ever in need who ever the jerk is who accused him is jealous. Or didn’t get what he wants.
This man is a crook and it saddens me at how easily people are fooled by him. I’ve known him for fifteen years, I’ve sat at his dinner table and broke bread with him, I say this in full honesty, I would not trust him any further than I can see him. He puts on a nice show for the public, behind closed doors he is a completely different person. He jokes about having this town wrapped around his finger, how everyone loves him, and how he uses the fire department as his campaign. This isn’t surprising to anyone who actually knows him and not the person they see in public, you’ll all see soon enough. The TBI does that take these things lightly, they don’t start these investigations based on rumor, there had to be some sort of credible information to get this ball rolling.

It really doesn’t matter what anyone thinks. Even good people sometimes do the wrong thing. In the end it is
the decision of the TBI. Your opinion doesn’t matter. If he is guilty, he pays the price. If he is not guilty, life goes on. Time will tell.
If it were not for Billy the city would be a dump. However, this doesn’t give him the right to do wrong and if he did he should pay. Hopefully this will not discourage people from giving to this charity. There are more kids in need today than ever before.
For the TBI to investigate something they need proof of it happening or somebody seeing him do this. They aren’t going to waste their times with rumors or someone trying to start drama. I am sure what they have is pretty concrete even to consider going after a mayor of a city. Just because he helps people out doesn’t mean he doesn’t skim from the top. They make a lot of money for Toys For Tots and I am sure most of it goes to help out these people but we don’t know if any of that money was redirected into something a little more personal for this mayor of yours. I hope the truth comes out and IF he did this I hope he is punished to the max.
they also need to check out why he picks up groceries and goes to Walmart for his family in the City Fire Chief vehicle!
If he is so great then why does he employee certain cops to follow me around and report everything I do to my ex husband but when reported nothing gets done.. That’s our tax dollars hard at work folks! Any other county my ex husband would be arrested for things he had done but because he has family that are cops nothing gets done..

I’ve known Mayor Wilson for over six years. I know he owned a construction company in the 90’s and cleared over one million dollars in at least one year. He did this by working 70 – 80 hours each week, month after month. He didn’t use his hard earned money to buy fancy cars or a fancy house. He doubled down to find ways to do good and give back to others the best way he could. He gave up a good business to become mayor and fire chief, jobs which pay practically nothing compared to what his small business earned. He’s devoted his life to helping others with no material things to show for it. He drives an old truck, his wife drives an old minivan. There are no fur coats or fancy watches in their house. They dedicate their lives to others asking nothing back. I can’t believe a man that has earned so much money and given it away, a man that has no taste for rich and fancy things would steel from a program that he has served so he could take a boat trip that he could have paid for 500 times over with the things he has given to others alone. Some politicians are corrupt. You can spot them by their clothes and cars. I Don’t believe Mr. Wilson is among them.
Billy is a great guy and former neighbor. I have seen him help so many people . I hope they get this all cleared up:)))
I think we all know what’s going on here. It is some looser that has a vendetta and this is their only way of getting revenge. We’ll I hope you feel better because you missed your target. I know your target was Billy but you hit the needy children of Greenbrier. I personally worked for 10 plus years with him at GFD. I can’t say enough good about this man. I would trust him with my family’s life. Without a doubt I know these are bogus accusation. This man would give his life to save yours. So we have a prick on the loose. Who has probably been on the Toys for tots list a time or two. Greenbrier is full of drama so this doesn’t surprise me. Praying for you Pal.

Billy Wilson has come to my aid many times, I respect him and I trust him. All I have ever heard about him was his compassion for anyone who needs help. How could he have time for a trip, he is always busy with the problems of the community!
First of all I don’t care about you calling my father-in-law a liar. He worked for the city for 15+ years and he is a better man than Billy Wilson could ever dream of being. Second, if you feel the need to reply to my comment, come up with something a little more original than the lyrics to a stupid country song.

I was told by a former city employee that one year he had a guys house painted with the Toys For Tots money and that he used the funds to take a cruise ship vacation for himself and his family. A former city employee that is as honest as the day is long. I hope its not true, but if it is I hope they find out and he has to pay it all back.
I do not believe this for one second.
I have lived in Greenbrier for 5 years, on several occasions Mayor Billy Wilson has been a first responder and I feel he was instrumental in saving my life, He has worked tirelessly in the middle of the street …I do not believe this about him and If I am right there is a lot of HATERS in and around Greenbrier who have a dislike for our Mayor and would like nothing better than to cause him problems…I feel like we should wait and see what this is all about before we start a recall or locking him up…He is a good man and I am sure there is an explanation for this accusation and it will come out to be haters always wanting to make trouble.
I find this very hard to believe. This man has dedicated himself to his family and community. That includes many foster children that him and his wife have loved as their own. This is also the man that married my husband and I. If you look at every event that has gone on in Greenbrier good or bad you will see him there giving his support. I pray for him and his family during this time.
