Greenbrier/Springfield: Stop Flushing Your Wipes

GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Greenbrier and Springfield are asking residents to stop flushing wipes, even the ones that say “flushable,” they are clogging the sewer system. “No wipes are safe to flush.”

“Because of the large number of wipes being flushed, our sewer plant is experiencing expensive problems that are costing the City which will end up costing the citizens. So please don’t flush wipes.”

“If you flush them, you have a greater chance of clogging your sewer line (which you would be responsible to repair,” city officials said.

The city of Springfield is also making the same request, according to Springfield City Manager Ryan Martin.

Smokey Barn News has reached out to other city’s but the problem is not likely to be unique to Greenbrier and Springfield.
