Greenbrier Teacher Gets A Very Special Letter

Cassidy Wiedman, a sixteen year old Junior at Greenbrier High School, wrote a very special letter about her favorite teacher, Ginnie Maxwell.

It was all part of the Barnes & Noble 2015 ‘My Favorite Teacher’ Contest. After considering more than 200 letters, one stood out among the rest. It was Cassidy’s. The question was how to tell her, and that’s where the fun began.

On Tuesday at 5 o’clock with a crew of about 30 teachers, students and County officials,  both Cassidy and “her favorite teacher” Ginnie Maxwell were told they were going to be part of a school sponsored scavenger hunt at Barnes & Noble in Hendersonville, the reality was they were on their way to their own awards ceremony.

Smokey was there at Barnes & Noble with cameras rolling as Ginnie and Cassidy discovered they were the guests of honor at their own party.
