Greenbrier Woman Dies In Fatal Rollover On Logan Rd

GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – First responders were on the scene in Greenbrier for several hours Sunday evening working a single-vehicle fatal rollover crash on Logan Rd.

The crash was called into 911 at 6:50 pm Sunday evening. The Greenbrier Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, and the THP responded to the crash.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and they have confirmed that the accident does involve loss of life. The agency reports that Melissa Mayes, 41, of Greenbrier was killed in the crash and John Hindsley, 33, also of Greenbrier, survived but was injured. Hindsley was transported to an area hospital.

According to Robertson County EMS, Hindsley was transported from the scene to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville in serious condition.

According to the THP, the vehicle, a 1995 Saturn SL1, was traveling south on Logan Road when it left the roadway and traveled across a driveway, into a yard on Logan Rd and overturned. The vehicle rolled several times ejecting the driver before landing on its roof.  (Location Of Crash)

According to the THP’s preliminary report, John Hindsley, the driver, is facing unspecified “pending” charges relating to the crash.

According to the THP, Hindsley, who was ejected from the vehicle and survived, was not wearing safety restraints. Melissa Mayes, according to the report, was wearing her safety belt.

Logan Rd was intermittently closed during the THP’s investigation of the crash and the vehicle removed.
