Gunfire Erupts in Gallatin Neighborhood / Two Confirmed Shot

GALLATIN, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – On Sunday evening, a shooting during an Easter egg hunt in a residential area of South Maple Avenue in Gallatin prompted a large response from emergency crews.
The first reports came in around 7:39 PM, with indications of ongoing gunfire and multiple individuals injured. One male suspect, described as wearing black clothing and dreadlocks, was said to have fled the area but was later taken into custody.
Emergency personnel responded to the 180 block of South Maple Avenue, temporarily closing portions of Long Hollow and Ford Street. LOCATION OF INCIDENT Two gunshot victims were confirmed and transported—one to Sumner Regional Medical Center and another to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Preliminary information suggests additional individuals may have been injured. Early accounts described a male shot in the chest, another in the side, and one person on the porch who was unresponsive. There were also (unconfirmed) reports that children may have been injured, but at the moment, we can only confirm that two adults were transported to area hospitals. Reports indicate it was a chaotic scene.
Multiple agencies responded to the incident. A perimeter was established, and at one point, officers were seen interacting with multiple individuals as they worked to secure the area. A K-9 unit was also deployed.

We have an update from Gallatin Police, who have been investigating the shooting incident. According to officials, the incident occurred during an Easter egg hunt and party hosted at the residence of 66-year-old Henry Apple, also known as “Skully.” Apple is described by investigators as a long-time Gallatin resident with a history of alleged narcotics trafficking and alleged gang involvement. He has been charged with Simple Possession of Schedule VI and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals had sustained gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ladavious Williams, was taken into custody with the assistance of the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office at 122 South Ford Street. According to police, Williams is a long-time Gallatin resident with an alleged history of criminal activity and alleged gang affiliation. He has been charged with Attempted Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, and Reckless Endangerment.
Investigators report that alcohol and narcotics were present at the party, which was attended by numerous adults and children, many of whom are described as long-time residents of Gallatin.
Gallatin Police also extended thanks to Emergency Management Agency (EMA) personnel for their assistance during the search.
