Home On Armstrong Rd Ignites, Fire Crews On Scene

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Agencies from across Robertson County are currently on the scene of a residential structure fire about 5.5 miles east of Springfield.

The home is located in the 3700 block of Armstrong Rd. MAP The first call came into 911 just before 11:30 am.

The Cross Plains Fire Department, Orlinda Fire, the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department with the assistance of the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency have all responded to the scene.

As soon as we can get more information we will update this report.

UPDATE: According to officials at the scene, the family escaped the home unharmed along with their pets. No injuries were reported. The family has been put in contact with the American Red Cross.

UPDATE: As far as a cause of the fire, according to Cross Plains Fire Chief Tommy Jackson, an electrical issue on or near the back porch may have caused the fire. There were two adults, two children, and at least one or two baby goats inside the home when the fire started. All successfully escaped the home without injury. The home, according to Chief Jackson, is a total loss.
