Robertson County, Tennessee (Smokey Barn News) – A fatal crash involving a pedestrian shut down I-65 North in Robertson County for several hours Monday evening. The accident occurred near mile marker 105.5, close to the New Hall Road overpass. (LOCATION OF CRASH) Traffic was diverted at the 104 -Bethel Rd exit.

Emergency services were notified that a pedestrian had been struck by multiple vehicles, the first call coming into 911 at 7:08 PM. First responders arrived to find an adult female suffering from critical traumatic injuries, according to Robertson County EMS Director Brent Dyer. Despite resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.

UPDATE: The Tennessee Highway Patrol is now releasing more information about the accident. According to the THP’s preliminary report, Wishanda Shurn, 49, of  Nashville Tennessee, was attempting to cross the interstate after being involved in a previous crash. As she crossed the northbound lanes, she was struck by a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado.  Shurn was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Colorado has not been charged.
