I24 E. Re-Opens Following 3-Vehicle Crash

COOPERTOWN, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – I24 E. has reopened following a three-vehicle crash involving two tractor-trailers and a passenger car.

The crash was first reported around 9:30 a.m. at mile marker 29 between the Hwy 49 and New Hope Rd exits. LOCATION OF CRASH

According to Robertson County EMS, the driver (a male in his 20s) was already out of the vehicle when emergency crews arrived. He was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. “He was very lucky,” one official said.  The drivers of the two tracker trailers were not injured.

The mechanics of the crash are still under investigation by the Tennesee Highway Patrol but reportedly the passenger vehicle made contact with a first tractor-trailer before connecting and lodging underneath a second.

The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, Cheatham County EMS, Robertson County EMS, Coopertown Police, the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department, the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol all responded to the scene.
