Obituary for Beatrice Ann Heatherly RESCHEDULED
Due to the chances of inclement weather, the service for Beatrice Ann Heatherly has been rescheduled. It will now take place on Friday, January 17th, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, located at 103 Golf Club Lane, Springfield, TN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, followed by the Funeral Mass. The family appreciates everyone’s understanding and looks forward to seeing attendees on Friday.
Beatrice Ann Heatherly, age 80, of Springfield, TN passed away on December 28th, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Heatherly was born on June 11th, 1944 in Drake, ND to the late Stephen and Veronica Volk.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11 from 10-12 followed by a funeral mass at 12 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church in Springfield.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Richard Volk, her sisters Angie Blonigan, Joyce Keys, Patricia Aber, and Veronica Guynup, and her sons-in-law, David Kelly and Van Perdue.
Mrs. Heatherly is survived by her husband of 52 years, Wayne Heatherly; her children: Brenda (Terry) Kelch, Belinda Kelly, Brigdet Perdue, and Chucky (Glenda) Norris; her grandchildren: Brandon (Jana) Payne, Ann Marie Legate, Matthew Guinn, Charlsie (Shawn) Scott, Dakota (Amanda) Norris, Mckenzie (Cody) Guinn, Jesika (Rachel) Shriver-Kelch, and Clinton (Sarah) Kelch; her great grandchildren: Belle, Luke, Hayden, Lily, Eli, Hadley, Oliver, Maverick, Lucas, Shy, Kaydence, Wayne, Lincoln, and Annalee; and her brothers: Stephen Volk, Doug Volk, and Virgil Volk; and siblings in law: Puggy (John) Anderson, Don Heatherly, and Vicky (Don) Wallace.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. She instilled family first in all those she loved.

Obituary for Terry Carlisle
Terry Dale Carlisle, 71, of Cross Plains, passed away on Saturday December 28, 2024, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday January 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Cross Plains Cemetery with Andrew Scarbrough, Sean Riley Carlisle, Corey Carlisle, Derek Carlisle, Mark Groves, and David Lamm serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Terry was born November 2, 1953, in Springfield, to the late Edward Russell “Bill” and Ola Thomas Bush Carlisle. He worked many years as a police officer, was a retired construction project manager, and was of the Pentecostal faith. Terry was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed participating in many fishing tournaments such as the FLW and the ABA. His twin brother, Jerry, was always by his side and they competed competitively and usually always took home the win.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Mindy Hutchison, and by his siblings: Brenda Joyce Carlisle, Charles Eddie Carlisle, and Billy Wayne Carlisle. Terry is survived by his son: Terry (Jennifer) Carlisle, Jr., of Nashville, by his daughter: Tonya Carlisle Murray of Springfield, by his twin brother: Jerry Gale Carlisle and wife Tina of Springfield, and by his grandchildren: Chris Carlisle, Jordan “Arson” Carlisle, Bella Taylor, Sean Riley Carlisle, Quincy Taylor, and Colton Hutchison.

Obituary for Jean Wooden
Lois Jean Mantlo Wooden, age 84 of Springfield, TN passed from this life on Monday December 23, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Friday December 27, 2024, in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Spain officiating. Burial followed in Ownes Chapel Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 am until the hour of service at 2 pm.
Mrs. Wooden was born October 4, 1940, in Springfield to the late Lou Ella Somerville Henderson and Louis Mantlo. She was a Christian, being a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church and a lifelong farmer by vocation. Her husband of 62 years, Hershel Wooden, sons-in-law, Pete Spain, Jerry Kelly, Eric Morris, sister, Betty Lou Ragsdale and half sisters and brothers, Bubba Mantlo, Linda Mantlo, Beverly Arms and Elizabeth Mantlo also preceded her in death.
Ms. Jean was a beloved wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and hanging out with her daughters. She made holidays a very special time. Her white beans, cornbread and dressing were in high demand with her family. She was an avid reader, loved Elvis and the TV show Gunsmoke with Festus by far her favorite character.
Ms. Jean is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Bill Munday, Barbara Spain, Charlotte and Rusty Burns, Connie and Doug Spain and Ella Morris; her son and daughter-in-law, Chester and Gail Fraizer; sister, Helen Thomas; half siblings, Patricia Reynolds, Rita Kirby, Toni Caudill; grandchildren, Brian (Melanie) Edwards, John (Amy) Edwards, Joshua (Amanda) Spain, Richie (Danielle) Wilmore, Brad (Brittany) Spain, Kevin (Randi) Spain, Andrea Morris, Matthew Morris, Justin (Jaren) Morris, Henry Morris, William (Jennifer) Spain, Jason (Mandy) Spain, Jada Garrison, Tonia (Tony) Crumley; thirty-two great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Ms. Jean had a huge loving heart, a giving soul, hardworking, and a forgiving spirit. She will be greatly missed until we are reunited in the sky in our heavenly home.
A special thank you to her best friend, Evelyn Hart, Wanda Spivey and Mary Lynn Duncan for the love and care that was demonstrated during Ms. Jeans last days.

Surviving her are sons and daughters-in-law, Tony A. and Denise Gainous, Randell M. and Chastity Gainous and Ted and Mary Gainous; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jason Handy; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Obituary for George Plumlee, Jr.
George Newton Plumlee, Jr., age 79 of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Clarksville.
Graveside services were conducted Monday, December 23, 2024 in Plumlee Cemetery with Dustin Thomas officiating. There was no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Mr. Plumlee was born February 16, 1945 in Oak Ridge to the late George Newton and May Irene Pierat Plumlee, Sr. He was a member of Springfield 1st United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Marines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Leding Plumlee.
Surviving him are his daughters, Mary Elizabeth Plumlee Meeuwis and husband Frank of Madison and Catherine Anne Plumlee and husband, Adam Kiepe of Omaha, NE; sister, Claudia Plumlee Gera and husband Ferrucio of Oak Ridge; and grandchildren, Jack Meeuwis and Milo Meeuwis.

Kathy was born December 8, 1968 in Russellville, KY to the late Jerry Wayne and Linda Gayle McKenzie Long, Sr. She was was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a manager at Murphy Oil. She was a good mother and grandmother. She loved her grandchildren and her fur babies.
Surviving her are her husband of 37 years, William Ray Traughber, Jr. of Springfield; son, William Ray Traughber III and wife Charity of Springfield; daughter, Brittany Caroland and husband Kenneth of Springfield; brother, Jerry Wayne Long, Jr. of Springfield; sisters, Tina Joyce of Adairville, KY and Norma Sircy of Springfield; and grandchildren, Isabelle Caroland, William Caroland, Felicity Caroland, Emma Caroland, and William Ray Traughber, IV.

Mildred Wanetta Haskins (Millie), age 84, went to be with her heavenly Father, Wednesday, December 25, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1940 to the late William Elvis Haskins (Jack) and the late Nellie Irene Green. Besides her mother and father, she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Eugene Haskins, William (Billy) Howard Haskins, William (Jackie) Elvis Haskins, Jr.; sons, William (Doug) Douglas Martin, Alvin Lee Martin and George Lee Stafford. Her daughters, Joyce Nell Salter (Martin) and LaDonna Lynn Ellis (Martin). Her grandchildren, Jacob Martin, Amelia Martin, and Jon Seagroves; and great grandchildren, Belle Gantt and Rowan Ward.
She is survived her son, Johnny Martin; daughters, Shelia Dyer (Teddy) and Lisa Napier (Shannan); 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Millie retired from the State of Tennessee Appeals Tribunal at the age of 78. She enjoyed writing poetry and short stories, gardening, tending to her flowers, and making glass bird feeders. She had a love for her Native American heritage, cooking (famously known for her homemade biscuits). She was a caretaker to all animals and would feed the raccoons, skunks, and possums on her porch.
She loved the Lord and would hand out God Knows… Just Pray messages to everyone.
She will be forever treasured and so greatly missed.

Obituary for Michael Brian McCumber

Michael “Mike” Brian McCumber – Born October 26, 1963, Nashville, TN. – Departed December 21, 2024, Clarksville, TN.
Mike was 61 years of age, lived in Clarksville at the time of his passing but was a native of White House, TN. Mike attended White House High School, Class of ‘81, and was a member of the FFA, where he received an award for State Winner for Parliamentary Procedure in 1980. In his younger years, he was an employee at Al’s Food Valu in White House, then later other sales jobs. If you knew Mike, then you knew he could sell a glass of water to a drowning man. Later he pursued his DOT driver’s license to become a over the road truck driver. He started his career at Schneider National Carriers, completing his driver training through Schneider receiving his class A CDL endorsement. Mike, being a proud member of the Teamsters, continued on with his career through other companies, which include: Consolidated Freightways, Roadway Express, and Yellow Freight. Through these years, Mike also received endorsements required to haul hazardous materials, Hazmat and Tanker certification. His career included many accomplishments, such as a 2-million-mile safe driving record and a consistently safe, infraction-free driving record throughout his employment. In 2009, Mike began working at Florida Rock and Tank Lines, and he received four promotions, advancing to Driver Trainer, Dispatcher, Terminal Supervisor, and finally Terminal Manager by 2014. Mike was also employed at Speedway convenience stores and then Mapco where he was a Transportation Manager. At the time of Mike’s passing he was employed by Circle K Stores, Inc. where he was Regional Safety Manager for the Midwest. Mike spoke highly of Circle K and his coworkers, he loved his job and the people he worked with from the beginning. He truly had found his business home and a special family within the Circle K company. With Decades of experience from Over the Road truck driver to driver safety, and terminal manager, Mike loved every aspect of his job.
Those of you who knew Mike, knew he never met a stranger and made many friends across the country. His wheels touched every state except Alaska and Hawaii. Beyond his job, he loved his daughter, Kayla, cooking and watching football.
Mike was preceded by his parents: Henry Lester and Katherine Isabel McCumber. He is survived by his daughter Kayla McCumber; sisters Katherine (Katie) Frost, and Carole Newman; as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1-4pm at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in White House. A memorial service with family and friends sharing their memories of Mike will begin at 4pm.

Mrs. Morris was born August 9, 1942 in Springfield to the late Otis Lee and Ester Eden Reid. She was a natural born care giver keeping children in her home for years. She loved them all and treated them all like her own. Friends of her own children loved being at their house because they felt so welcomed there. Having children at a young age herself, she often said that they all grew up together. When she had time for hobbies of her own, she discovered that she loved Bingo and would go and play whenever she had the chance. Later in life when she suffered from Dementia, it was such a blessing that she still told everyone how much she loved them and showed them all that she did.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Morris is preceded in death by the father of her children, Mr. Alford Hawkins Morris, her daughters, Beverly Jane Morris and Tammy Annette Morris, her son-in-law, Paul Roark, her daughter-in-law, Tonya Morris, her brother, Thomas Reid, and her sisters, Joyce Qualls, Bobbie Keith, Beverly Pulley and Dorothy Porter.
Mrs. Morris is survived by her children, Melinda Roark, Timothy “Bubba” Morris, Susan and Delvin Hester, and Dennis and Jill Morris, and the granddaughters she raised, Jacqulyn Swisher and Casey Morris. Mrs. Morris is also survived by 13 more loving grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren that will all miss her very much.

Marie Fort Heatherly, age 86, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at The Waters of Springfield.
In accordance with her wishes her remains will be cremated. Her remains were buried in the Springfield Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Mrs. Heatherly was born May 31, 1938 in Cheatham County, TN to the late John B. and Alice Dickerson Fort. She was a homemaker and member of the Coopertown Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Heatherly is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dallas Healtherly, her son, Charles E. Heatherly, daughter, Barbara Heatherly Kinnard, brother, Johnny Fort, and sister, Virginia Fort James.
Mrs. Heatherly is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Heatherly Morris and Tony Morris, Sr.; sisters, Dorothy Fort Wilson and Frances Fort; seven grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Obituary for LeEllen Rankin Corlew
LeEllen “Lynn” Corlew, of Cottontown, TN, entered eternal rest on December 24, 2024, at her secondary home in Cortez, FL. Lynn deeply loved her family, cherished her friendships, and found great joy in caring for animals and foster children. Her life was devoted to rescuing and nurturing animals of all kinds, a testament to her compassionate heart. Lynn loved all two-legged and four-legged creatures. A faithful servant of the Lord, Lynn shared her unwavering faith and commitment to Christ through her acts of kindness and service, leaving a legacy of love and selflessness that touched all who knew her.
An accomplished equestrian, Lynn earned numerous championships throughout her years of competitive showmanship. She loved spending time with her beloved animals at the horse farm. Her passion for gardening was equally inspiring, as she delighted in cultivating beautiful flowers and sharing her joy with everyone she met. Lynn spent many evenings with her husband watching the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico. She cherished days with her children and grandchildren. Lynn’s vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Lynn was born to the late Robert and Evelyn Gibson on April 22, 1942, in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1960 and later dedicated herself to serving the community as a valued member of the Sumner County Sheriff’s Department Animal Control Division. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Evelyn Gibson, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Garner and Vivian Corlew, sister-in-law, Rosalyn Corlew, brother-in-law, Ronnie Corlew, and her beautiful, loving daughter, Rachel Danielle Corlew. Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ray D. Corlew, their children, Robert (Maria) Corlew, Keir Corlew, and Jennifer Corlew; her sister Mary Gibson (Elvis) Cherry; brother-in-law Gary (Trina) Corlew, David (Carolyn) Corlew, Steve Corlew; sister-in-law, Ann Corlew, and Stephanie Corlew Parrish; grandchildren, Brant (Branden) Corlew, Lindsay “Pete” (CJ) Stanley, Cameron (Baylee) Corlew, Andrei (Madeline) Korobkov, Ky (Molly) Korobkov, and Denis (Lauren) Korobkov; great-grandchildren, Branley (Rachel) Corlew, Mattellen “Critter” Colgate, Dallas, Sierra, Daxton, and Ariana Stanley, Cooper, Maeve, Anya Korobkov and Cassie Corlew; bonus daughter, Julie (Jason) McGuffie; bonus grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan McGuffie, many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Obituary for Robert A McKee
Robert Alvin “Bob” McKee age 84 of Cross Plains,TN died Monday, December 23, 2024. Born January 13, 1940 to Erasmus P. and Frances Wilson McKee. Bob often spoke of his love for God and how grateful he was for that relationship. He was a proud Army veteran, serving time in Germany. Bob’s careers included driving a tractor trailer and owning his own cleaning company. He had a love of all dogs with many faithful four-legged companions through the years. He was always ready to have a long conversation and tell several jokes.
Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Claire McKee Harrod and brother, James Wilson McKee. He is survived by brother, Richard Stein; many nieces, nephew, grand-nieces and nephews along with dear friend, Patricia Willard.
Funeral service was held Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 1pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. David Blaser officiating. Mr. Brune was born on January 9, 1935 in Easton, Kansas to the late Zeno Leo & Francis Keimig Brune. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved to watch westerns, a Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed fishing. He was a Christian.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Marion Brune; and sons, Rickie Wilson & Robert Wilson.
He is survived by his son, Randy (Connie) Wilson; daughters, Debra (Dale) Beurman and Lynn (Mike) Rilinger; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Brune’s wishes were to be cremated and will be reunited in burial with his wife at a later date.
