Obituary for Barbara Clark
On March 11, 2020, Barbara Jean Clark passed away at home surrounded by family who dearly loved her.
Barbara Jean (Smith) Clark was born on October 22, 1934, in Abilene, Texas, and grew up in Sweetwater, Texas. She was the daughter of, and preceded in death by, Darius Cull Smith and Lila Mae (Pardue) Smith. Barbara attended Sweetwater High School, Hardin Simmons University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
During a revival in Texas, Barbara met George Truett Clark. Within three months they were married and set out on a road filled with adventures that would last them 61 years. They had a love that stood the test of time and was evident to all who ever met them. Their relationship was a wonderful example of loyalty, romance, sacrifice, compromise, devotion, respect, commitment and friendship.
Barbara worked alongside George at each of the Southern Baptist churches led by him in Texas, including Dumont, Guthrie, Carey, Nacogdoches, Timpson and Nederland. Barbara continued her work with George at First Baptist Pleasant View after they moved the family to Tennessee. Throughout all their moves Barbara was an avid reader and crafter – she learned to weave baskets, she made pottery, ceramics and jewelry. She loved sewing and embroidery and it showed in the many things she made for family and friends. Barbara loved to have fun, she was almost always giggling or laughing and spending time with her family was her favorite thing to do. She never shied away from trying new things whether it was a new food or surfing. Other than her husband, the people she loved the most were her children.
Barbara was a Christian, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a friend. She was the glue that held the family together, she was loyal, loving, creative, funny and supportive. She never failed to tell her children how much she loved them and how proud she was of them. While so many here will miss her greatly, there are many who are overjoyed to see her again, especially her husband.
One of Barbara’s favorite quotes, that she recently found, “We don’t die because we are finished. We die because we are complete.” She has completed the task God had planned for her life. There is only joy in that. It doesn’t mean the ones left behind don’t hurt, it does mean she did an incredible job not only on her family but, also on the impact she had on others that will carry on. She did as her Maker had created her to be. She is complete.
Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband (George Truett Clark) of 61 years. She is survived by daughter Jeana Georgette Clark (Sherry), daughter Jennifer Leigh Davidson (Tommy), son George Taylor Clark (Linda Kay). She is survived by her brothers Clinton Smith (Sue) and Ray Smith (Day). She is survived by her sister Vera Anglin. She is also survived by grandchildren Clark Thomas Davidson, (Morgan), Macy Margaret Smith (Jonny), Austin Taylor Clark (Emily), Lucas Cole Clark and three great-grandchildren Eleanor Mae Davidson, Henry Taylor Clark, and Amelia Ruth Davidson.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, from 4-8PM and again on Saturday from 9AM until service time at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, 6316 Hwy 41A, Pleasant View, TN 37146. Services will be held at Austin & Bell on Saturday, March 14th at 10AM with Pastor Brad Shockley officiating. Interment and graveside service will be at EverRest in Pleasant View, TN immediately following the service with Greg Smith conducting the committal. Austin Clark, Lucas Clark, Jonny Smith, Clay Breece, Clark Davidson, and Tommy Davidson will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant View First Baptist Church Renovation Campaign or Covenant of the Cross at 752 Madison Square, Madison, TN 37115.

Granville David Gill, age 47, of Springfield, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at NorthCrest Medical Center. No services are planned at this time.
Mr. Gill was born February 21, 1973 in Springfield to the late David Lewis and Ollie Gayle Tanner Gill. He was kind and caring and a dear friend to many.
Mr. Gill is survived by his sister and her fiance, Rebecca Gill and James Iacono; and a host of loving friends and extended family members who will all miss him very much.

Obituary Everett Earl Dowdell
Everett Earl Dowdell, 73, of Decatur, IL, passed away on Wednesday March 11, 2020 at St. Thomas Rutherford. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday March 18th at 1:00 p.m. in the Penn Township Cemetery in Moweaqua, IL. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Mr. Dowdell was born December 20, 1946 in Taylorville, IL to the late Herschel C. and Mary Parker Dowdell, Sr. He graduated from Bethany High School. Mr. Dowdell was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star. Mr. Dowdell was a retired machine operator with the former Tate & Lyle. He loved hunting, fishing, and both building and collecting model trains.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Clifford Dowdell. Mr. Dowdell is survived by his wife: Janet Waller Dowdell of Decatur, IL, his sons: Josh (Analisa) Dowdell of Texas, Jon (Becky) Dowdell of Texas, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Dowdell of Arizona, by his daughter: Emily Dowdell Green of Decatur, IL, by his brothers: Darrell (Claudia) Dowdell of Hermitage, Herschel C. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Wilson officiating. Mr. Brown was born December 10, 1962 in Robertson County. He was a farmer and a member of the Robertson County Coon Hunters Association. He enjoyed his work on the farm, coon hunting and horses. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Brown; mother, Nancy Gibbs Moon; a brother, Ronnie Brown; and sisters, Joyce Brown and Ruby Cage.
Jimmy is survived by his son; James Brown and his wife, Erica of Springfield; daughter, Bethany Brown and her fiancé’, Shane Lunsford of Springfield; brother, Tommy Brown of Paducah, KY; sister, Kathy Ayers of Springfield; special friend, Christine Brown of Adairville, KY; and grandchildren, Mario Gardner, Myah Gardner, Deleana Wilson, Mar’Ryah Lunsford, and Luke Brown.

Obituary for Deacon L C Darden
Deacon L C Darden, Age 101. Early Saturday, February 22, 2020 God called his faithful servant, Deacon L C Darden home to Eternal Rest from labor to reward. Born to the late Homer Sr. and Fannie Darden, November 6, 1918.
L C Darden gave his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ well over sixty years ago upon joining St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He later became a dedicated Deacon under the pastoral ship of Pastor G.W. Pettus. Words of wisdom, love for his church and pastors, powerful prayers and encouragement, we will forever resonate in our hearts, every devotion he led and songs he sang over the decades was a testimony and declaration of his life today and forever more, “Do Lord, Lord Remember Me,” “Shine On Me,” “Give Me That Old Time Religion,” “Jesus Is On The Mainline,” “I Will Trust In The Lord,” “Lead Me Jesus,” “Get Right With God,” “Come And Go To That Land Where I’m Bound,” “Get Right Church And Let’s Go Home.”
L. C. Darden was educated and attended Bransford School, Robertson County, Tennessee. L. C. Darden was a dedicated worker for many decades and retired from formerly known as L&N now CSX Railroad Line Corporation. L. C. Darden honorably served in the military, United States Army.
Deacon Darden is preceded in death by his long life wife of many years, Mary Darden; mother and father, Homer Sr., and Fannie Darden; brothers, Frank Sr., James Robert, and Homer Jr., Darden; sisters, Emma Chapman, Maggie Murphey; and son, Don Darden.
He leaves to cherish his memories: grandsons, Keith and William Darden; granddaughter, Tara Darden; nephews, James A. Darden, Bobby R. Darden, Johnny Darden (Lynell), Frederick Darden (Sissy), Paul (Elizabeth) Darden of Hendersonville, TN and Frank Darden, Jr. (Patricia) of Indianapolis, IN; nieces, Joyce E. Harris, Jr, William Baxter (Bill), age 74 of Ridgetop passed away Thursday, February 27th at his home.
He was born February 13, 1946 to the late William and Edna Sanders Harris. He graduated in 1964 from North High School in Nashville where he was voted Most Bashful.
He retired from Pye-Barker Fire Safety, formerly Acme Fire and Safety. He loved sports especially the Titans, Vanderbilt and Alabama.
A private service was held for family members. Cremation was entrusted to TLC Crematorium in Greenbrier.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, his daughter, Vicki (Jimmy) Freeman, grandson, Dylan Carr and granddaughter, Olivia Carr.

Mrs. Jackson was born September 28, 1930 in Springfield to the late Joseph Andrew and Mary Florence Hunter Hall. She was a seamstress and a homemaker. Mrs. Jackson was of the Baptist faith. She made draperies for many years and she enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, and anything that allowed her to be outdoors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Fred, Russell, and James Hall, Margaret Proctor, Ruth Brewer, Georgia Turner, and Mary Della Dickerson.

Eric D. Redfern, age 35 of Cross Plains, died Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Skyline Medical Center.

Mr. Redfern was born July 18, 1984 in Robertson County. He was a heavy machinery operator. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed fishing and basketball.

Kay G. Stoope, age 82 of Orlinda, died Sunday, March 8, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Stoope was born February 17, 1938 in Robertson County to the late Delmer and Nell Eidson Goostree. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was retired from the Robertson County Board of Education where she worked as a bookkeeper at East Robertson High School. She loved her family and spending time with them, especially watching them play ball. She also enjoyed fishing and dancing, where she met her husband, Wayne.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Lee Swearingen; a son-in-law, Todd Young; a brother, Phillip Goostree; and a sister, Joyce Jernigan.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne N. Stoope of Orlinda; daughters and son-in-law, Teresa and Daryl Wix of Orlinda and Vicki S. Mr. Overstreet was born March 12, 1939 in Nashville to the late Carl and Maggie Crutchfield Overstreet, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and worked for many years as a dispatcher for a trucking company.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Overstreet of Cedar Hill; son, Tim Overstreet of Clarksville; daughters and sons-in-law, Tracey and Tony Boles of Dover and Lea Ann and Neil Crockett of Springfield; brothers and sister-in-law, Bobby Overstreet of Nashville and Carl and Elaine Overstreet, Jr. of Joelton; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Sonny Fort of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Ryan Boles, Dylan Boles, Tyler Boles, Alec Granata, and Olivia Allen; and great grandchildren, Evelyn McMillan and Alexandra Boles.

Obituary for Barbara McCoin Moore
Barbara M. Moore, age 82 of Madison, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dearly loved her family. She loved the beach, was an avid sports fan and loved the UT Lady Vols. She was the first female salesperson at Bill Trickett Oldsmobile and Honda and was the top salesperson there for many of the 35 years she worked there.
She was preceded in death by her son, Barry Moore; parents, Everette and Willie Mae McCoin; sisters, Geneva Wilson and Nell Fentress. She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Buddy) Lucas and Kelly (Jay)Wilson and her son, David Moore; a sister, Lucille Batten; grandchildren, Chase Overbey, Jacob Lucas, Katie Wilson, Josh Wilson, Zach Wilson, Blake Moore and Bethany Moore; and her great-grandchildren, Colton and Riley Overbey.
Her family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until her Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Rev. Ken Castleberry officiating.

Tommy Merritt Jones, age 83 of Pleasant View, Tennessee died Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Waters of Cheatham in Ashland City.
Mr. Jones remains will be cremated and there are no services planned.
Mr. Jones was born on June 4, 1936 in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Joe and Thelma Jones. He was retired as a printer from Baird Ward Printing Company in Nashville and also served in the National Guard. He also had a great love for fishing.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Jones; and sisters, Betty Austin and Sue Ellis.
He is survived by his sons, Ricky (Lisa) Jones, Randy Jones; daughters, Reba (Mike) Barker, Patti Harris, Paula (Edd) Suiter, Pam (Jeff) Chandler; sister, Linda Pentecost; fifteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Brenda was born in Nashville, Tennessee on December 1, 1957 to the late Rexford Carlton and Frances Louise Morris Batts. She was of the Church of Christ faith and was a loving Wife and Mother. Mercedes Corinne Hunt Pitt age 96 of Springfield died Friday, March 6, 2020 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. She was born on March 19, 1923 in Robertson County, Tennessee to the late James Levi and Susan Inez Hunter Hunt. She worked for the Robertson County Board of Education as a cafeteria worker and was a member of the New Chapel United Methodist Church. Mercedes was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Billy Pitt; brothers, Robert and Bailey Hunt; sisters, Carlene Grimes, Mabel Randolph, Gladys Hudson, and Frances Underwood.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Tammy Pitt of Cedar Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Pitt and Andrew Tinker of Alcoa, Tennessee, Donna Pitt and Mike Gainous of Alcoa, Tennessee; grandchildren, Gary Tinker, Brad Gainous, Sahra Ratledge, Audra Hornback, Matt Tinker, Andrew Tinker, Kristen Lewis, Lindsay Wilson, and Casey Pitt; fifteen great-grandchildren; special friend and roommate, Jean Crawford; special neighbors, Phillip Henderson, Mary Gladys Barbee, and Elizabeth “Boogie” Jones.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Obituary for Shirley Ann Garrett
Mrs. Shirley Ann (Albert) Garrett, a long-time resident of White House, Tennessee, died on March 5, 2020, at Skyline Medical Center, at the age of 89 from cancer.
Mrs. Garrett is survived by her husband Paul S. Garrett (White House); Sons Paul T. Garrett (Ocala, Florida) and Barry L. (Janet) Garrett (White House); Grandsons Joshua Garrett and Jason (Kelsie) Garrett, both of Springfield, Tennessee; Sister Erna Wheeley (Olive Branch, Mississippi), Brothers Frazier (Nancy) Albert, Jr. (Franklin, Tennessee), William Thomas (Billie) Albert (McEwan, Tennessee), Jerry Albert (Lewisburg, Tennessee), Sam (Brenda) Albert (Castalian Springs, Tennessee), and John (Melissa) Albert (Franklin, Tennessee). Mrs. Garrett is preceded in death by her parents Frazier Harris Albert, Sr. and Bertie Izora (Swaw) Albert, Sister Rebecca Theckston, and Brother George Albert.
Mrs. Garrett was born on May 16, 1930, in the White Hill community of White House. Growing up in Tyree Hollow, she attended New Hope, Crafton, and White House schools. On February 28, 1948, she married Paul Garrett. During their seventy-two years of marriage, they raised two sons and two grandsons. She loved traveling, going as far as Central and South America and Europe. She went to all fifty states but never lived more than twenty miles from where she was born.
Mrs. Garrett was skilled at flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, and cooking; she loved square dancing and was a long-time member of the Springfield Squares dance club. In addition to home-maker, she was a licensed beautician. The oldest of nine brothers and sisters, she was “Grandmother” to her grandsons and her many nieces and nephews of several generations.
All were welcome to attend and celebrate Shirley’s life during visiting hours of 4PM-8PM, Sunday March 8, 2020 and 10AM – 1PM Monday March 9, 2020 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, 533 TN highway 76, White House, TN 37188. The funeral was held Monday March 9, 2020 at 1pm at Austin & Bell with Bro. Billy Bowers officiating, followed by interment at White House Memorial Gardens, 3639 US-31W, White House, Tennessee.

Obituary for John Traylor
John Bailey Traylor, age 64, of Adairville, KY passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 9, 2020 at 11am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bishop Clint Barnes officiating. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville with Luis Ordonez, Favian Castellones, Omar Guevara, Mario Ordonez, Michael Bush, Keith Slack, James Farlee and Dalton Sego serving as pallbearers.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 4-8pm and again on Monday from 9am until the hour of service at 11am.
Mr. Traylor was born July 9, 1955 in Clarksville, TN to the late John W. and Jennie Ruth Grant Traylor. He worked as a woodcrafter at Crabtree Furniture and was a U.T. fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking care of them.
In addition to his parents Mr. Traylor is preceded in death by his sister, Martha Ann Henry. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Sharp Traylor; daughters, Elizabeth (Favian) Castellanos and Charlotte (Luis) Ordonez, both of Adairville; sisters, Linda (Jerry) Holt of Adams and Patty (Keith) Slack of Chapmansboro; and grandchildren, Victor Traylor, Gloria Garcia, Elaina Castellanos, Elisandra Castellanos, Jazmin Ordonez and Leovanni Castellanos.

Ralph Edward Van Brunt, Jr., age 53 of Springfield, died Sunday, March 1, 2020 at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home. Burial followed in Palestine Cemetery, The family received friends at the funeral home Monday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. Van Brunt was born August 28, 1966 in Princeton, NJ. He was of the Catholic faith and attended Our Lady of Lourdes catholic Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired security guard. He was preceded in death by his mother Concetta Lombardo Van Brunt.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Van Brunt of Springfield; father, Ralph Edward Van Brunt, Sr. of Philadelphia, PA; daughter, Ashley Marie Moore of Collegeville, PA; step-son, Robbie Mosley of Smyrna; brothers, Mark Van Brunt, Brian Van Brunt, and Jay Van Brunt, all of Hamilton, NJ; and three grandchildren.

Obituary for Barbara Jean Browning Sprouse
Barbara Jean Browning Sprouse, 85, of Springfield, passed from this life on Friday February 28, 2020 at North Crest Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday March 3rd at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Mike Treen and Joan Powell officiating. Interment followed in the Elmwood Cemetery with Jordan Sprouse, Tim Long, David Dorris, Hank Graves, Cory Toothman, and Jonathan Foote serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sprouse was born October 15, 1934 in Robertson County to the late Jess and Margaret Winters Browning. She was a graduate of Coopertown High School, a homemaker, and a member of New Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Sprouse was an avid UT Vols fan and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Bill, Houston, Buddy, and Jerry Browning.
Mrs. Sprouse is survived by her husband of 59 years: Tommy Sprouse of Springfield, by her daughter: Pam Leftrick-Ramsey of Cedar Hill, by her son and daughter-in-law: Jimmy and Abby Sprouse of Nashville, by her brothers and sister-in-law: Aubrey Browning of Springfield and Wayne and Patricia Browning of Pleasant View, by her grandchildren: Jessie Dorris and husband David, Emily Long and husband Tim, Kayla Graves and husband Hank, Jordan Sprouse and wife Kamey, and by 5 great grandchildren.

Obituary Richard Lawrence Cofer
Richard Lawrence Cofer, 85, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday February 27, 2020 at his home.
Memorial services were conducted Saturday March 7th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Martin Babb officiating. The family received friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Cofer was born September 15, 1934 in Robertson County to the late Joseph Richard and Nannie Leota Lawrence Cofer. He was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1952, where he was Vice President of his senior class and was an outstanding football player for the Yellow Jackets. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. Mr. Cofer was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, where he served as an Usher, and was a charter member of the Springfield Civitan Club. He was the co-owner of the former Tennessee Lighting and Appliance in Springfield. He retired from Hollingsworth Oil Company as a route sales collector. Mr. Cofer enjoyed football, baseball, youth sports, fishing, and was an avid Springfield Yellow Jackets fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Louise Cofer Poole. Mr. Cofer is survived by his wife of 59 years: Dianne Roe Cofer of Springfield, by his son: Charles Howard Cofer, by his grandchildren: Robert Barry Brown, Camille Cofer, and John Ross Cofer, and by his nephew: Jerry (Susie) Poole of Atlanta, GA.

Carl Phillip Williams, age 72, of Goodlettsville, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral services were held at the Main Street Church of Christ on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 12 noon with Brother Joe Rushing and Barry Thornberry officiating. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery with Hunter Duncan, Mike McMurray, David Hazelwood, Mark Reeves, Chris Cunningham and Zach Haynes serving as pallbearers.
Visitation was held at the church on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 4-8pm and again on Saturday from 10am until the hour of service at 12 noon.
Mr. Williams was born October 6, 1947 in Ft. Pierce, FL to the late Carl “C.P.” and Reba Bullock Williams. He worked as a Custodian at Greenbrier Middle School and was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Williams and Edward Williams and his sister, Peggy Williams Hawley.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Eugenia Dawson “Jeannie” Williams; son, Travis (Courtney) Williams of Joelton; and granddaughter, Emmeline Williams.

Thomas Porter Bilyeu, age 68, of Springfield, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at The Waters of Springfield.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 1pm at the Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in the Mt. Denson Cemetery with Johnathon Bilyeu, Tom Hunter, John Price, Alan Roach, Kenny Betts and Randy Bilyeu serving as pallbearers.
Visitation was held at the church on Wednesday from 11am until the hour of service at 1pm.
Mr. Bilyeu was born October 12, 1951 in Springfield to the late Sidney and Ada Hicks Bilyeu. He worked as a cabinet builder and installer, but truly enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Mr. Bilyeu was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents Mr. Bilyeu is preceded in death by his son, David Bilyeu and his siblings, Bobby Bilyeu, Lynn Bilyeu Biggs, Dan Bilyeu, Jimmy Bilyeu and Kay Bilyeu Hand. Mr. Bilyeu is survived by his son, Dewayne Bilyeu of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Sheila Bilyeu; Siblings, Elizabeth Roach, Frances (Mickey) Hunter, Tiney (Junior) Hand, Charlie (Martha) Bilyeu, Brenda Douglas and Joe (Annie) Bilyeu; and grandson, Johnathan Bilyeu.

Obituary for Elaine Morrow
Elaine Morrow, age 71, of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020.
She is preceded in passing by her parents, Lyman Brooks and Victoria Athylene Lankford.
She is survived by her husband, David L. Morrow; daughters, Stephanie (Darryl Brawley) Morrow, Johnna Ryan; siblings, Sandra (Scott) Satterfield, Landon Lankford, Sherry (Wayne) Hall, Kathy (Stan) Gwaltney; grandchildren, Kelcie (Tim) Smith, Garrett Puhl, Madison Puhl; great-grandchildren, Rosston Horton, Skylan Smith, Remmie Smith; lifelong best friend, Linda (Ronald) Hackett; several other dear relatives and friends also survive.
Born in Smith county, Elaine’s family moved to Nashville where she attended public school and graduated from Hume-Fogg High School, where she met her husband David. They were married on April 19, 1967 and have been together for 53 years. She began her working days as a receptionist/secretary for a machine and tool supply company. Later, she opted to become a full-time mother and home-maker at which she excelled. Elaine was a long-term member of Liberty United Methodist Church. Her faith sustained her throughout her life.
Elaine’s passions in life were her family, her flower gardens, oldies music, and life itself. Her strength and determination will remain a blessed memory and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. until the Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville with cremation to follow.

He was a Plumber for W.M. Brooks Plumbing Co. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

Obituary for Steven “Steve” Ray Grissom
Mr. Steven “Steve” Ray Grissom passed away March 1, 2020 in Gallatin, TN at the age of 59.
Steve is survived by his stepsons, Thomas and Michael Perry; brothers, Dale (Laura) Grissom, and Jeffrey (Patricia) Grissom; and sister, Pamela (Mark) Helton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grissom; parents, Curtis and Wilma Grissom; and brother, Kenneth “Pig” Grissom.
Steve was born July 4, 1960 to Curtis and Wilma Grissom at General Hospital in Nashville, TN. He attended Hendersonville High School in Hendersonville, TN. He will be remembered as a fun-loving guy, who was fascinated by wolves, old cars and trucks. Steve married the love of his life, Mary, in 1994. They spent many great years together until she passed in 2010. He resided in Gallatin at the time of his death.
All services were held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with visitation on Wednesday, March 4th from 1pm-7pm; and on Thursday, March 5th from 10am-7pm; and on Friday, March 6th from 10am-12Noon.
His funeral service began at Noon on Friday, March 6th. Burial followed at Sherron Cemetery in Portland, TN.

Lilly Katherine “Katie” Hall, age 93, of Murfreesboro and formerly of Robertson County, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at St. Thomas Hospital in Rutherford County.

Mrs. Hall was born may 27, 1926 in Ashland City to the late Charles Bidwell and Eddi Desmonie Douglas Williams. She was a homemaker and member of the Dickson First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Hall is preceded in death by her husband, James L. Hall, her son, George Marvin Hall, and 11 of her siblings.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughter, Betty Lou Struzick; her brother, Charles D. Williams; and a host of loving friends and extended family.

Kathleen “Kandi” Marie Barile, age 65, of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020.
Kandi was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed her work as a psychiatric nurse for 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. She will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ruth Holton and a brother, Buddy Holton.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbi (Chris) Bailey, Tina (Scot) Grant, Kerri (Nico) Jakobsen; siblings, Patti (Mark) Jeffrey, Bunni Walters, Jimmy (Samara) Holton, Chris (Brooke) Holton, Shawn (Megan) Holton, Nick, Abbi and Aaron Holton; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild also survive.
