Obituary for Troy Lee Hand

Troy Lee HandTroy Lee Hand, 54, of Springfield, died Friday March 17, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday March 20th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Michael Redfern officiating.

Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Arthur Dillard, Jamie Morris, Anthony Morris, Michael Redfern, Josh Reed, Tommy Hand, Jeremy Miller, Jacob Butterworth, and Nathan Wildmone serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Troy was born October 11, 1962 in Robertson County. He was a trucking owner/operator and was of the Baptist faith. Troy enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles, and coon hunting. He was preceded in death by his father: William Hand.

Deborah Ann Bartlett, age 46 of Adams, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at her home. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Carroll officiating. Burial followed in Bellwood Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Bartlett was born September 29, 1970 in Mariemont, OH to Ruth Greer Hoskins and the late Chester Pursley. She was a patient account rep with Navient.

Obituary for Marvin Daniel Stuard

Marvin Daniel StuardMarvin Daniel Stuard, age 63 of Adams, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home. Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 17, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating.

Burial followed in Bellwood cemetery with Richard Stuard, Roger Clemons, Jimmy Clemons, Steve Dunlap, Scott Wilburn, and Grayson smith serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home Friday from 12 noon until the hour of service.

floral squareMr. Stuard was born December 17, 1953 in Adams to the late William Thomas and Mildred Cavender Stuard. He was a truck driver, a mechanic, and a contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Stuard of Adams; sons, Richard Stuard and wife Elizabeth of Smyrna and Shaun Stuard of LaVergne; sister, Joyce McLaughlin of Springfield; and grandchildren, Sydney and Avannah Stuard.

Catherine May WootenCatherine May Wooten, age 85 of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was a Cafeteria Lady with the Sumner County School System for 25 years where she touched the lives of many children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucion and Maggie Copeland and her brother, Lucion Copeland, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Harold Wooten; daughters, Cheryl (Bill) Jung and Penny (Terry) Mundy; son, Jerry (Nancy) Wooten; brother, Edgar Copeland; grandchildren, Brandon Wooten, Jake Jung, Shannon Hodge and Sunday Mackorell; great-grandchildren; Evan Hodge, Lillian Huffine, John and Ava Mackorel.

Denise WilsonKaren Denise Wilson, age 54, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2017 at NorthCrest Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 6pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Lisa Havron and Mason Wix officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 3pm until the hour of service at 6pm.

Ms. Wilson was born October 4, 1962 in Springfield to the late Charles and Shirley Goodwin Wilson. She worked at OshKosh and was a dear friend to everyone she knew.

Obituary for Betty Sue McCormick

Betty Sue McCormick, age 73, of Portland, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Joseph Hale officiating. After the service Mrs. McCormick’s remains were cremated. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Gainous, Michael Bentley, William Casey, John Wooten, Dallas Bentley, Homero Vasquez, Stuart Beaty and Gary Ogg.

Mrs. McCormick was born June 18, 1943 in Cottontown, TN to the late Eldon and Lea Mooneyhan Summers. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents Mrs. McCormick is preceded in death by her husband, Robert McCormick, her brothers, Billy Summers and Robert Summers, her sisters, Dorothy Carter, Lena Brake and Mary Richardson and her grandson, Steven Hardin.

Obituary for John Hix Jr.

John Hix Jr.John Hix, Jr., age 79, of Pleasant View, died on Monday, March 13th, 2017 at his home. Memorial services were held at 2 o’clock pm on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Randy Riggs officiating.

Visitation with the family was held Friday, March 17th from 4-8:00pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View & again on Saturday from 12 Noon till the hour of service.

Mr. Hix was born March 22, 1937 in Jackson County, Tennessee to the late John and Estelle Hix, Sr. He was a self-taught master carpenter, a Christian, and “a cowboy at heart” who was happiest when he was horseback riding.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 6 siblings.
