Obituary for Richard (Rip) Adams

Richard (Rip) AdamsRichard Buist (Rip) Adams, 89, of Springfield, died Monday April 3, 2017 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. His remains were cremated and a private family remembrance was held.

Mr. Adams was born February 17, 1928 in Robertson County to the late Buist H. and Aileen Sterry Adams. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII, and in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, with a Staff Sergeant rank. He was a retired Security Guard and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Elizabeth Averitt and Larry Adams, by his niece: Micky floral squareHinkle, and by his nephews: James Hinkle and Adam Burr.

Mr. Adams is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Jean and James Hinkle of Las Vegas, NV, Billie Hinkle of Greenbrier, Nancy and Earle Thompson of Hoover, AL, and Judy Thomas of White House, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Teresa Denise KeymonTeresa Denise Keymon, 50 of Springfield, died Monday, April 3, 2017 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother David Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with William Keymon, James Dakota Evans James Witt, Brayden Lassiter, Chris Mullins, A.J. Luck, Scott McLean, and Chris Witt serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Teresa was born on October 6, 1966 to the late William and Mary Callis Armour. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband John Keymon, and her brother Herbert Armour. Mrs. Keymon was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker who loved to spend time with family, enjoyed helping others, loved animals, and loved to sew.

Age 81 of Nashville, TN, formerly of Springfield, TN. April 2, 2017. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Springfield, TN; worked for Ferro Fiberglass for 27 years; worked for Metro Public Schools for 16 years; and was a graduate of Coopertown High School.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Walker “Judge” Lipscomb & Leona DuBois Lipscomb of Springfield. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jo Lipscomb; daughters, Lisa Jo Lipscomb and Lori Lipscomb Bell (Elijah Brown); granddaughters, Erin Bell Mosley (Thomas) and Emily Bell; and great grandchildren, Eben Mosley & Eden Mosley.

She was born September 3, 1932 the daughter of the late Ezra and Sallie Kirkland Crain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, V.O. Crain, and 2 sisters, Geneva Parrish Pickard and Nelda Bates.

The family received friends, Sunday, April 2, 2017, from 6pm-8pm at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Final resting place will be at the Jonesville Cemetery in Huntington, TX and services will be conducted at Shafer Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX. Further arrangements will be posted at a later date. She was a homemaker and loved adventure. She was of the Baptist faith.

Jina JonesJina Rae Pruett Jones, age 53, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 1pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Chet Duke and Brother Jon Briggs officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 4-8pm and again on Thursday from 11am until the hour of service at 1pm.

Mrs. Jones was born July 24, 1963 in Goodlettsville to the late Billy Ray Pruett and Mrs. Frances Parnell Pruett of Goodlettsville. She worked in the Human Resources Department of Work Force Essentials and was a member of the Coopertown Church of Christ. In addition to working and being a homemaker Mrs. Jones was also a beautiful and loving wife and mother.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Tony Jones; daughters, Holly Jones and Katie Jones, both of Springfield; and sister, Jamie (Ronnie) Carr of Ridgetop. Mrs. Jones is also survived by a host of loving aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and friends of the family who will all miss her very much.

William "Bill" Edward BurgessAge 82 of White House passed away, Sunday, April 2, 2017 at St. Thomas West. He was born July 16, 1934 in Dickson, TN to Dewey Hobson & Effie Mae Tummins Burgess. He worked as an Aircraft Inspector for Textron before his retirement. He was a member of Cherry Mound Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union #735 and the Masonic Lodges of Cumberland Furnace and White House.

Preceded in death by parents; wife, Nelda Carolyn West Burgess; sisters, Hazel Fuqua Myatt and Alma Hopper; brothers and sister-in-laws, Dewey (Ruth) Burgess and Glenn (Betty) Burgess; brother-in-laws, Walter Wall and Henry Dunlap. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 2 o’clock pm in the chapel of Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Brother Gene Parton officiating. Burial followed in the Mallory’s Cemetery in Chapmansboro with Chris Douglas, Nat Drake, Cody Parshall, John Morris, Jeremy Morris and Brian Spain serving as pallbearers.

Visitation was held at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 5-8pm and Sunday from 12pm until the hour of service at 2pm.

Mrs. Douglas was born April 14, 1949 in Cheatham County to the late Johnny Winfield and Martha Lorene Watts Balthrop. She was a bank manager for US Bank and a member of the Harper Road Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Douglas is preceded in death by her husband, Rayburn Eugene Douglas; son, Curtis Douglas; brother, Wendell Balthrop; sisters, Judy Gail Balthrop, Barbara Balthrop Jones and Marcia Jean Balthrop Morris. She is survived by her son, Micheal (Amy) Douglas of Pleasant View; grandchildren, floral squareMicaela Douglas, Mia Douglas and Dawson Douglas; and sisters, Mary Joyce (Billy) Drake of Pleasant View and Shirley Ann Mitchell of Pleasant View.

Pat HeathmanMary Elizabeth “Pat” Heathman, age 85, of Pleasant View, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Skyline Medical Center. A graveside service was held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1pm in the St. Michael’s Catholic Church Cemetery with Father Anthony Lopez officiating. Burial followed with Matt Heathman, Lee Bracey, Josh West, Kevin Thompson, Elmer Heathman and Jim Schott serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Head and Bernard Murphy. Visitation was held at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 4-8pm and again on Saturday from 11:30am until 12:30pm.

A Rosary was also held at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:30pm with Deacon Mike Morris officiating.

Mrs. Heathman was born July 28, 1931 in Robertson County to the late James D. and Elizabeth Crouch Murphy. She was a homemaker and communicant of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Heathman is preceded in death by her husband Charles Edgen Heathman, her son, Charles Murphy Heathman, brothers, James Murphy, Jr. and Felix Murphy, her sister, Josephine Justice, and her son-in-law, Mike Bracey. She is survived by her son, Mark (Cathy) Heathman of Springfield; floral squaredaughter, Diane Bracey of Ashland City; daughter-in-law, Myra Heathman of White House; sister, Regina (Robert L.) Loretta loved her family and friends! She was a very outgoing and generous person with a huge heart. She was a member of White Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a Care Coordinator for OH and R Company Healthcare. She was married for 25 years to Wayne McMurtry who died in 2009. In addition to her husband, Wayne, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Honeycutt Catlett. She is survived by her parents, Charles & Lorene Honeycutt, Goodlettsville, TN; daughter, Lydia Nell Fagley, Nashville, TN; brothers, Charles Steven Honeycutt, Celina, TN and Michael Ray Honeycutt, Goodlettsville, TN; grandchildren, Krysta Noelle Rogers and Zackary Edward Rogers; loving nephew and his wife, Troy & Torri Graves.
