Obituary for Mark Krisle

Mark KrisleJohnnie “Mark” Krisle, age 57, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at his home.

A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Krisle was born January 14, 1961 in Nashville to the late Wilburn Edgar and Ellen Marie Clinard Krisle. He was a self-employed General Contractor. Mr. Krisle was a kind and loving father and grandfather who was always happy and had a smile on his face. He was a man of few words but when he did speak everyone listened.

floral squareMr. Krisle is survived by his sons, Justin Krisle of White House and Joshua (Melinda) Krisle of Adairville; sisters, Bonnie (Kenneth) Morris of White House, Darlene (Ronnie) Baldwin of Cedar Hill and Rachel Keeble of White House; special friend, Jennifer Nicholson of White House; and grandchildren, Jacoby Mark Krisle and Brayden Charles Adams.

Obituary for Mildred Sloan

Mildred SloanMildred McCutcheon Sloan, age 79, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at her home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Harold Miller officiating. Burial will follow at 3pm in the Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester, TN with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9am until the hour of service at 11am.

Mrs. Sloan was born October 10, 1938 in Decatur, Alabama, to the late Gordon W. and Lillie Mae Hazel McCutcheon. She was a homemaker and member of the Center Point Baptist Church.

floral squareIn addition to her parents Mrs. Sloan is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Dean Sloan, Sr. and six brothers. Mrs. Sloan is survived by her son, Howard D. Sloan, Jr. of Ft. Meyers, FL; daughter, Kimberly Henson of Springfield; brother, Gene (Dee Dee) McCutcheon of Cowan, TN; sisters, Maxine (Byron) Whitehurst of Lebanon and Judy Nelson of Staten Island, NY; and granddaughter, Amanda Dawn Sloan Wells.

If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the TN Division of Blind Services. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.

Ima Jean ChumleyAge 87 of Goodlettsville, TN went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 14, 2018 at NHC Sumner Place in Gallatin, TN. She was born March 30, 1931 in Columbia, TN to Flem and Archie Hyatt Howell. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of Skyview church of Christ. She was a woman who loved her family and her husband with all her heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Chumley; son, Larry Wade Chumley. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Jimmy) Czermak, Florence, AL and Melissa Dodge, White House, TN; grandchildren, Jamie (Ross) Roney and Maggie (Wade) Fowler; great-grandchild, Desi Reid Roney; sister, Joyce Dawson, Columbia, TN brother-in-law, Ed (Jean) Chumley, Culleoka, TN; sister-in-law, Grace Chumley, Columbia, TN.

Interment followed at 3pm in Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia, TN. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 15, 2018 10am until the time of the service at noon at the funeral home.

She was born February 25. 1938 inAsheville, North Carolina to Oliver and Esler Louise Henson Dodds. She worked as in accounts receivable for Precision Industries before her retirement. She traveled all over the world with her husband sharing the good news of Jesus and was a member of First Baptist Church White House.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Darrell Diseker, White House, TN; sons, Paul (Teresa) Diseker, Fort Worth, TX and Gary (Brandy) Diseker, Portland, TN; daughter, Laura Sue Morris; brother, Gary (Miriam) Dodds, Orlando FL; 5 grandchildren. Spenser Morris, Dach Diseker, Danyssa Diseker, Joe E. Diseker and Claire Diseker; 2 great-grandchildren, Raya floral squareMorris and Ryker Diseker.

A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, May 20, 2018 at White House First Baptist Church with Bro. Ashley Mofield officiating. Visitation is planned from 3-4pm at the church prior to the service. A private family burial is scheduled at Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to White House First Baptist Church or to International Missions.

John William "JW" BirdwellAge 84 of Cottontown went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. He was born March 8, 1934 in Sumner County, TN to Nathan and Rosa Callis Birdwell. He was retired from Peterbilt, a retired UAW member and was a member of Clearview Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Rosa Birdwell; brothers, Floyd and Bob Birdwell; sisters, Willa Sue Braswell, Lela Ruth Stancil and Emma Gregory. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sue Wilkinson Birdwell; son, Tony Birdwell, both of Cottontown, TN; daughter, Rita (Mike) Ervin, Greenbrier, TN; brothers, Odell (Francis) Birdwell, Cottontown, TN, Wayne (Harriett) Birdwell, Cross Plains, TN and Kenneth (Yvonne) Birdwell, Greenbrier, TN; sisters, Betty (Leroy) Scruggs, Gallattin, TN and Brenda Smith, Cottontown, TN; 2 grandchildren, Shane Ervin and Dana Davis; 3 great-grandchildren, Emily Ervin, Levi Davis and Stormi Davis.

Obituary for Virgil Lynn Stidham

Virgil Lynn StidhamAge 69 of Hendersonville passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at his home. He was born January 7, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to Virgil and Marie Jernigan Stidham. He is a 1967 graduate of White House High School and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He worked as a union steamfitter before his retirement and proudly served his country in the US Army in Vietnam. He enjoyed classic cars and floral squarefishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Stidham; brother-in-law, Harold Rader. He is survived by brother, Jim (Betty) Stidham, Hendersonville, TN; sister, Virginia Rader, White House, TN; sister-in-law, Jean Stidham, Knoxville, TN; 10 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Sunday, May 13, 2018 at 3pm in the chapel of Austin and Bell Funeral Home in White House with Pastor Greg Mutsch officiating. Interment followed in Halltown Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held Sunday, May 13, 2018 1-3pm at the funeral home.

Frances Doris ConnFrances Doris Conn, age 75 of Springfield, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at NorthCrest Medical Center.

The family received friends 12pm to 2pm on Saturday, May 12 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier. The funeral Service was held at 2pm Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Herbert officiating. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

She was born February 1, 1943 in El Paso, TX to the late Paul H. and Frances Culbertson Tucker.

She is survived by her son, Tad Maddox; daughter, Tippi Lynn (Alan) Whitehead; grandchildren, Alexa Springsteen in Lansing, MI and Bradley Maddox in Leeds, AL; daughters in-law Joanne Springsteen and Samantha Maddox.

Our Drue, our Momma, our Nana…we were so blessed to have been loved by this special lady, with the dark sparkling eyes. Her love lives within each of us, as we carry her in our hearts, forever.

Viewing times for friends and family in Hendersonville will be from 3:00 – t 7:00 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 7:00 Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home in Morristown, Tn. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Tieke Cemetery in Bulls Gap, Tn.

Funeral services were conducted at 6 o’clock pm, on Monday, May 14th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Dave Thomas officiating. Her remains were cremated following the funeral service. The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 14th, beginning at 4:00PM until the hour of service at 6:00PM.

Gayle was born on November 11, 1960, to the late Harvil and Cynthia Newland McCrary. She was a homemaker and loved her family very much.

He was born October 26, 1935 in New Liberty, Illinois to Will Drade and Lutie Idela Slankard Rixie. He retired as an electrical engineer for the Electric Power Operations Division of TVA. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 0238 and the TVARA (Nashville Section).

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bettie McCorkle Rixie, White House, TN; daughters, Nancy (Johnny) Plush, White House, TN, Jean (Al) Huffman, Bohama, NC and Valarie (Tim) Barnes, Marietta, GA; sister-in- laws, Jannie (Thomas) Nix, Memphis, TN, Phyllis McCorkle, Hattiesburg, MS and Maggie McCorkle, LA; 7 grandchildren, Melanie McKee, Audra Huffman, Rachel Barnes, Anna Plush, Casey Huffman, Christy Barnes and Mary Barnes.
