Obituary for Tina Brooksher Douglas 

Tina Brooksher Douglas went peacefully home to meet the Lord on Saturday August 27, 2022, in Augusta, GA, at the age of 55 surrounded by her family. Born November 25, 1966, she spent her early life in Adams, TN and graduated from Jo Byrns High School and then attended Austin Peay State University where she was a cheerleader and member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and a Pi Kappa Alpha little sister. Tina was a selfless supporter of the military and touched the lives of hundreds of Soldiers as she spent more than 29 years supporting her high school sweetheart and husband as they toured the world as a military family. Settling in Augusta, she continued to make meals, and anything required to bring a little touch of home to her neighbors, friends, and Soldiers around the Fort Gordon area. She kept young by caring for her granddaughter, Abby and fur babies.

Tina is survived by her husband, COL(R) Troy Douglas; Mother, Shelby Brooksher; Sister, Tammy Head; and her two children, Megan and Aaron; along with 4 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Tony Brooksher.

Obituary for David Earl Brummett

David Earl Brummett, 69, of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday August 27, 2022, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday September 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Providence Baptist Church with Pastor David Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Harper Hills Cemetery in Springfield with Lee Johnson, Lynn Elwood, Phil Baer, Curtis Petty, Karl Hix, and Brian York serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Providence Baptist Church.

Mr. Brummett was born September 24, 1952, in Portland, TN. He was a retired driver with Waste Management and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Brummett was preceded in death by his father: Iro Brummett, by his grandson: Joshua Lynch, by his brother-in-law: Charles Cook, by his nephew: Bruce Brassel, and by his half-sister: Iris Presley.

Rosie Lee Holt, age 92 of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield, Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Dr. Frank Gagliano officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the hour of service. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Holt was born June 17, 1930 in Springfield to the late Luther and Bessie May Eidson Dorris. She was a member of South Haven Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball, watching birds, and working with her flowers. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles with her late husband. The most important thing to her was her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Holt, Sr. and her daughter, Tonya Holt.

Mark was born November 30, 1961, in Russellville, KY. He was a graduate of Springfield High School and went on to receive his master’s degree. Mark was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a computer technologist, an honorary member of the National Corvette Club, and was of the Baptist faith. He was a car enthusiast that loved antique cars, corvettes, boats, planes, and trains. If it had a motor, he loved it. Mark loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father: Buford Evans.

Obituary for Teresa Yvonne Leavell

Teresa Yvonne Leavell, 56, of Springfield, passed from this life on Thursday August 25, 2022, at her home.

There will be a time of visitation with the family on Monday August 29th from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Teresa was born May 30, 1966, in Springfield. She was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1984, worked as a teacher’s aid at Bransford Elementary, and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Springfield. Teresa loved traveling, especially cruises, watching westerns and TV, especially Gunsmoke and Matlock. She always loved working in the ministry field and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father: L.C. McClain and by her siblings: Jeffrey McClain, James Chase, and Linda Northington.

Obituary for Lindsey Everett Dyer

Lindsey Everett Dyer, 90, of Ridgetop, Tennessee, died Thursday August 25, 2022, at Morningside of Springfield in Springfield, Tennessee.

Mr. Dyer was a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief and was a veteran of Vietnam. He also retired from the VA hospital in Nashville.

Born in the Bugtussle community of Monroe County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Charles Edward and Oma Maines Dyer. He was also preceded in death by sister Katherine Dyer Mullinix; brothers Charles, Ventrice, Edsel and Kenneth; niece Patty Mullinix Dunn; and nephew Noel (Buck) Mullinix. He was also the nephew of Ezra Maines and a cousin of Ray and Jessie D. Miller and Alma Ruth Butler, all now deceased.

Survivors include nieces Susan Dyer Brown of Kentucky, Cheryl Dyer Case (Mike) of Colorado, Lisa Dyer Fry (Rick) of Shelbyville, Tennessee; nephew Charles Dyer (Linda) of Kentucky, Greg Hodges of Greenbrier, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Ruth Dyer Arney of Cookeville, Tennessee, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Robert Francis “Bob” D’Entremont, 67, of Springfield, passed away on Monday August 22, 2022, at TriStar Hendersonville Hospital.

A time of visitation was held with the family on Friday August 26th at the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Bob was born October 4, 1954, in Boston, MA to the late Wilfred and Regina Benkert D’Entremont. He was a retired Batchman from California Paint (ICP) and was of the Catholic faith. Bob enjoyed playing Cribbage, singing karaoke with his wife and friends, and spending time with all of his family and friends. Being with his grandchildren was always special to Bob, especially when they were swimming.

Age 35 of Greenbrier passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Nashville, TN. He was born September 4, 1986 in Nashville, TN to John Harold & Pamala Clarice Chappell Sinks. He worked as a landscaper and as a musician. Austin attended and played football for White House High School. He graduated from Hendersonville High School and was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing, listening to Rock music and watching football, especially the University of TN Volunteers. He was very talented and tried out for American Idol. Everyone that knew him knew that he had a big heart.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Harold Sinks. He is survived by his mother, Pamala Chappell, Greenbrier, TN; brother, Dustin (Kristi) Shaw, Springfield, TN; sister, Savannah Sinks, Greenbrier, TN; several uncles. aunts and cousins.

Obituary for Evelyn Anne Smith

Evelyn Anne Smith, age 39, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away suddenly on June 28, 2022, in Grass Lake, Michigan, following a longstanding battle with severe mental illness.

Evelyn was born on January 22,1983, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She graduated with honors from Huron High School, earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan and a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University of St. Louis, MIssouri. She worked with at-risk youth as a social worker.

Evelyn was also a musician, and was an accomplished singer, pianist, and cellist. She studied at the Berkelee College of Music in Boston in a singer/songwriter program and also in music production. She was an accomplished yoga practitioner and certified yoga teacher, as well as a loom weaver. She was a lifelong Episcopalian. Her kind and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Evelyn is survived by her mother, Virginia Sory Brown of Ann Arbor; father, Mark Brampton Smith (Catherine) of Stoughton, Wisconsin, and brother, Simon Peter Brampton Smith of Bellevue, Washington.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Jordan Stokes and Anne Sory Brown of Springfield, and Robert Wesley and Charmian Ettinger Smith of Arlington, Virginia.

Evelyn enjoyed many visits with her grandparents in Springfield.

A memorial service was held on August 15, 2022 at the First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

A brief service of committal will be held on Thursday, September 1 at 11 am, in the chapel of Austin and Bell Funeral Home on Walnut St. in Springfield, preceded by a time of visitation with the family at floral square10 am, and followed by inurnment of ashes at Elmwood Cemetery and a lunch at the funeral home.

He worked in maintenance management for The Waters of Springfield. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. as an Airborne Army Ranger in Vietnam and in Panama. He was of the Nazarene faith.

Robert “Rob” Joe Johnson, age 36 of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Monday, August 22, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A Celebration of Life Service where the family received friends and family was held at The Livery Stables in Pleasant View on Saturday, August 27th, from 4PM until 7PM.

Rob was born on December 31, 1985 in Nashville, Tennessee to Sherrie Highsmith Johnson and the late Eddie Joe Johnson. He worked in the construction field. He had worked as a foreman for a demolition and excavating company. He loved working for Jeremy Ford in his current job. Rob’s life was his kids. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his father, Eddie Joe, he is preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Howard Johnson.

Wanda enjoyed her grandchildren and her pets. Linda Estes, age 70 of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at The Arbors of Springfield.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 12:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Lora East officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery with Ponder East, Joel East, Thomas East, Clyde Dean, Bill Gibson, and J.W. Bradley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer were Wayne Crain. The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 until 8 PM and Thursday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Linda was born October 4, 1951 in Springfield to the late Tom and Bess Alice Clinard Estes. She was a member of Springfield 1st United Methodist Church and was a retired teacher having taught at Watauga and Greenbrier Elementary Schools and lastly at Springfield Baptist Church Preschool. In between her teaching career she was a sales representative. She was an avid University of Tennessee Football fan. She also enjoyed her dachshund dogs, feeding birds, flower gardening, and snow skiing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Estes.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and David East of The Woodlands, TX; nephews and wives, Ponder and Cristine East of Austin, TX, Joel and Claire East of Austin, TX, Thomas East of The Woodlands, TX, and Stuart and Crystal Estes of Franklin, TN; and nieces, Lora East of Los Angeles, CA and Elizabeth Estes of Nashville.

The family would like to show their appreciation to all the caregivers who have taken care of Linda over the last years.

Sue loved crocheting, quilting, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father: Jimmy Joe Duke, and by her brother: Jimmy Wayne Duke.

Michael Paul Coy, age 68 of Orlinda, passed from this life on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Orlinda Baptist Church.

Mr. Coy was born April 5, 1954 in Kettering, OH to the late Robert and Nellie Orndoff Coy. He was a member of Orlinda Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver with Rogers Group Rock Quarry.

Obituary for J.W. Frazier

J.W. Frazier, 74, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday August 18, 2022, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday August 26th in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Walker officiating. Interment followed in the Elmwood Cemetery with Phillip Roach, Jimmy Henley, Troy Henley, Austin Mealer, Brayden Mealer, Colton Mealer, Katelyn Hicks, Wayne Binkley, and Jay Mantlow serving as pallbearers. Bryce Bailey served as an honorary pallbearer. The family received friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

J.W. was born September 8, 1947, in Springfield. He loved working on vehicles, welding, and fabricating. J.W. retired from Martin Machines as a welder. He was preceded in death by his father: Wash Frazier and by his mother: Ruth Douglas Frazier Watts.

Obituary for Bill & Ivy Altom

William “Bill” Lee Altom, age 91 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, preceded his wife in death on Thursday, August 18, 2022. His wife, Ivy Elizabeth Altom, age 87, followed him in death on Saturday, August 20th.

There was a private family service. Burial was in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.

Mr. Altom was born on August 29, 1930, in Henderson County, Tennessee, to the late William and Ollie Gooch Altom. He was retired from NES and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He loved gardening & yardwork, dark honey, and most especially his children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Altom was born on September 1, 1934, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late Clyde and Mable Wiles Kelly. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Altom loved her children and grandchildren dearly, loved cooking for her family, and looked forward to getting ready for dates with her husband, Bill.

Mr. and Mrs. Altom were married for 66 years and both were of the Church of Christ faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Altom is preceded in death by his sisters, Brooksie & Virginia; and his grandson, Jason.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Altom is preceded in death by her grandson, Jason; sisters, Dorothy and Dorothea; and brothers, Roy and Lloyd.

(11/14/1955-08/15/2022) Has been carried from his earthly home by angels to Paradise where he will rest in Peace and await the Resurrection at the coming of the Lord.

David was preceded in death by his parents: James Robert and Annie Katherine Trotter.

He is survived by his wife Laurie Ann LeBlanc and by his siblings: James Dale (Pam) Trotter, Barbara Jean (James) Ladd, and Charles Dewayne Trotter; also by “Mama II” June Trotter; Aunts: Sylvia Rochuba, Barbara Jane Puckett, & Patricia Lassiter Trotter; numerous cousins, nieces & nephews and their children; & very special friends Cleveland (Helen) Stephens.

Edward A. “Boo-Boo” Wilk, III, age 61 of Clarksville, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Justin Wilk officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery with Justin Wilk, Michael Dine, Jeffrey Randolph, Jeremy Wilk, Jonathan Bowen, William “Buddy” Randolph, Brandon Ellis, and Brent Ellis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Wilk, Anthony “A.J.” Wilk, Ayden Wilk, and Summer Downey. The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Mr. Wilk was born October 13, 1960 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was an electrician and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. They always brought a smile to his face. He was also an avid San Francisco 49er’s fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Gibby” and Kathryn Louise Morgan Randolph; his grandmother, Eva (Connie) Morgan; and a brother, Tony Wilk.

Obituary for Dr. Richard Joseph “Joe” Bridwell

Dr. Richard Joseph “Joe” Bridwell went home to Jesus on August 16, 2022 at age 84, in Springfield, Tennessee.

Joe was born on January 26, 1938 to Frank and Anno Bridwell in Alice, Texas. After graduating from Abilene High School in 1956, he went on to earn four degrees. He received two bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and geology in 1962 from the University of Texas, Austin. He was then commissioned as a Naval Officer and served our country in the Naval Data Processing Center in Washington DC for three years. He continued his geological studies and received his Master’s degree from Colorado School of Mines in 1968. He went on to receive his doctorate from the University of Utah in geology. He lived in New Mexico until moving to Tennessee to be cared for by his daughter.

Joe loved the outdoors, geology, photography, and genealogy. He spent many years and traveled extensively to learn about and document the Bridwell and Brown family histories and wrote a book on those histories. He traveled around the southwest taking pictures of nature and his favorite area to photograph were The Bisti Badlands. He won several awards in New Mexico for his photography.

Dr. Bridwell was predeceased by his brother, Robert Bridwell, and both his parents. Dr. Bridwell is survived by his children and their floral squarespouses: Donna Christine Powley (Greg), Dirk Nikolaus Bridwell (Louise Hollesen), Erin Thais Van Meter (Thomas) and three grandchildren Kylie and Madison Van Meter and August Bridwell.

Dr. Bridwell’s celebration of life will be held in Greenbrier, TN at the Van Meter home on October 15, 2022.

James Benton Dailey, age 96 of Greenbrier, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at Creekside Center for Rehabilitation in Nashville, TN.

Funeral services were at 11am on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier with Bro. Donnie Bryant Officiating. Burial followed in Hudgins Cemetery in Fairview, TN with Randy Cavender, Johnny Wilhite, Mark Mayton, Mark Weakley, Peter Grant, Dale Gilmore and Daryl Wherry serving as pallbearers.

The family received friends 4pm to 8pm, Monday, August 22 and 9am until time of service on Tuesday, August 23 at the funeral home.

Mr. Dailey was born in Celina, TN to the late John Benton and Mattie Dunning Dailey. He was also preceded in death by his wife; Helen Mangrum Dailey; sons, John Dailey, Earl Dailey; brothers Oliver Cordell Dailey, Willie Dailey; sisters, Polly, Pougie and Anna Ruth; daughter-in-law, Janis Dailey.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenbrier and was a Welder for IKG Industries.

Obituary for Nancy Lee Jones

Age 83 of Springfield passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at NHC in Springfield. She was born February 13, 1939 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio to Charles & Lola May Lane Stone. She worked as a homemaker and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working with gardening of flowers and vegetables. She collected elephants of all sizes and kinds and was quite the artist. She was very talented in drawing.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pam JOnes; brother, Chuck Stone; step-father, Johnny Green. She is survived by her husband, Hobert Leon Jones; daughter, Laura (Roger) Wood, grandson, Austin Wood, all of Springfield, TN; two step-brothers, Larry (Elaine) Green and Gary (Karen) Green, both of FL; several nieces and nephews.

Obituary for Chris Raynor Davis

Age 55 of White House went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Residence of Alive Hospice. He was born November 22, 1966 in Colville, WA to Roger Raynor & Marjorie Dawn Chance Davis. He was employed as parts manager for Nelson Mazda for 24 years. Chris served as a White House Reserve Police Officer for 10 years. He continued to help with tactical training of the officers. He was a 5th degree black belt. Sen Sei Davis was an instructor for Vanatta’s School of Martial Arts. He also did SPEARE training and taught tactical self-defense alongside Eric Enck. He had also helped with Boy Scout Troop #459. He was a man of great faith and a friend to all he met. Chris was passionate about the White House Police Department’s program Shop With A Cop, a program designed to provide Christmas gifts to children less fortunate.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Michelle Davis; son, Christopher Davis; daughter, Jackie Davis, all of White House, TN; sisters, Paige (Jim) Arnal, Smyrna, TN and Dawn Davis, Colville, WA.

Funeral service was held Monday, August 22, 2022 at 1pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House, with Pastor Ashley Mofield officiating.
