Increased Police Presence at Greenbrier Middle School Tomorrow Following Unconfirmed Threat

GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – You may notice an elevated presence of law enforcement at Greenbrier Middle School on Friday. Concerned parents reached out to Smokey Barn News after a threatening note was found at the school, prompting an investigation by local law enforcement.

While the note, described as messy and left in a bathroom stall wall, suggested a threat involving a firearm, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and the Greenbrier Police Department have stated that, so far, no credible threat has been identified.

To ensure students’ and staff’s safety and peace of mind, the Sheriff’s Office and the Greenbrier Police Department will have an increased police presence at the school tomorrow. This measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution. The Sheriff’s Office told Smokey Barn News, “So far no credible threat has been found” but the investigation is ongoing.

Law enforcement officials emphasize that they take all potential threats seriously, regardless of how minor they may seem. The investigation into the note is ongoing, but there is currently no indication that the note poses a real threat.

We have confirmed reports that some parents have decided to keep their children home from school as a precaution. However, authorities reiterate that there is no evidence at this time to suggest any credible danger.

Parents and students should not be alarmed by the additional police presence; it is simply a proactive step to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.

Greenbrier Middle School released the following statement regarding the note.

“GMS is aware of a message that was written on a restroom stall wall. At this time, results of the investigation along with law enforcement reveal that there has been no credible threat to Greenbrier Middle School. There will be extra law enforcement and central office staff presence tomorrow.”
