Injury and Arrest Follow Springfield Head-On Crash

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A head-on crash in Springfield sent one person to the hospital and another to jail Wednesday night.

The crash occurred on Kinneys Rd in the curve near 5th Ave, the first call coming into 911 just after 9 pm. LOCATION OF CRASH

The Springfield Fire Department and Robertson County EMS responded to the scene. No life-threatening injuries were reported but one of the occupants collapsed at the scene. Robertson County EMS transported that individual to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.

One of the occupants was taken into custody by Springfield Police.  That individual was transported to the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield. Specifics on the charges they may be facing were not immediately available.

Kinneys Rd was closed for about an hour while Springfield Police investigated the crash and officials cleared the scene.

Today was a busy day for First Responders. Officials tell Smokey Barn News that there were at least 15 to 20 traffic-related accidents on Wednesday. Fortunately, no life-threatening injuries were reported.
