Judge Orders White House Hotel Guests To Vacate Over Safety Concerns
WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Tennessee General Sessions Court Judge issued a “vacate order” for all guests of the Days Inn in White House over “structural integrity” and ” faulty electrical issues.” Guests had until Friday, June 16th to find a new place to stay. Anyone staying beyond that date were told they could be arrested.
According to White House City Administrator Gerald Herman, the owner of the hotel (located at 1009 Highway 76) MAP filed an appeal that pushed the “vacate order” into July but Smokey Barn News has learned that many of the hotel’s guests have already left the hotel.
Several of the hotel’s guests reached out to Smokey Barn News. They indicated that they were struggling to find a new place to stay.
The specific plan of the hotel owners moving forward is unclear but the judge left little room for interpretation, the hotel is unsafe.
The letter read: “To Whom it may concern: Please be advised the Honorable Judge Joseph Zanger has ordered to execute a vacate order at 1009 Highway 76 (Days Inn) in White House, Robertson County, Tennessee due to life safety concerns which include building structural integrity and faulty electrical issues. 
All residents and others staying in any of the rooms at the Motel are ordered to vacate the premises by 5:00 PM on Friday, June 16th, 2023. The White House Police Department is instructed to arrest and prosecute anyone remaining at the Motel after 5:00 PM on June 16th, 2023 for trespassing.”
When Friday came no one was arrested and the hotel still has guests in at least part of the hotel. When Smokey Barn News called we were told that two rooms were available.
