Kevan Hawkins Of White House Dies In Fatal I65 Wreck

Kevan Hawkins (23) Of White House has died in an early morning wreck Saturday on Interstate 65 near Hwy 31w just outside of Millersville.

According to Sergeant Jeff Petty with Goodlettsville police, Hawkins was driving north on I-65  just before 2:00AM Saturday morning when his vehicle left the roadway around the 99.2 mile marker and impacted a rock wall off the right shoulder of the road. After impacting the wall the vehicle spun around and bounced back onto the roadway. (Location of wreck)

According to Petty, Hawkins was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene and  “It did not appear that Hawkins was wearing a safetybelt.” Petty also said that no other vehicles were involved in the accident and no witnesses have come forward but the investigation is still on going.

Sergeant Petty also said that weather was affecting the investigation of the accident which was still ongoing Sunday.

As far as a cause of the accident, Petty said they are trying to figure out why Hawkins left the roadway, “Did he fall asleep at the wheel, was there a medical emergency,we just don’t know,” Petty said. A blood toxicology report has been requested as part of standard protocol. The results of the test could take up to two months, Petty said.
