Local Man Critical After Springfield Crash Early Sunday
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: A serious single-vehicle crash left one man in critical condition early Sunday morning.
The crash occurred on 7th Avenue West between 5th Avenue and Main Street near S. Boren St., the first call coming into 911 at 2:36 a.m. MAP Officials say the vehicle left the roadway and struck a large tree with significant force.
According to Robertson County EMS Director Brent Dyer, “Upon arrival on scene, paramedics found a male in his early 30’s, as an unrestrained driver occupant of the vehicle. The man was critical, unresponsive, requiring emergency treatment to supplement his breathing. He was transported emergently to Skyline Medical Center as a ‘trauma alert’, and required administration of sedation, paralytics, and advanced airway management (intubation) in transport.”
Officials confirmed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The cause of the crash has not been released.
