Long-Serving Robertson County Court Officer Robert “Bob” Pentecost Dies at 78
ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – Smokey Barn News has learned that long-serving Robertson County Sheriff’s Office Court Officer Robert “Bob” Pentecost has died following an illness. He was 78.
Pentecost began his law enforcement career in 2007 and served with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office for 18 years.
Robert E. Pentecost was born April 7, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Sammie J. and Pauline Hulsey Pentecost. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was the former owner of Chicago Bob’s Pizza in Cross Plains. Pentecost was known locally for his cooking, as well as his enjoyment of family trips, humor, swimming, fishing, and his lifelong support of the Chicago Cubs.
Pentecost is survived by his wife, Pat Bechtel Pentecost. Bob and Pat shared 52 years together.

Visitation: Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Robertson County Funeral Home, 2201 Memorial Blvd, Springfield, TN.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Donations may be sent in care of Robertson County Funeral Home.
