SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Matthew Browning, MD, and his staff at Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Springfield are pleased to announce they are once again accepting new primary care patients. Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Browning has been caring for patients in Springfield and Robertson County for more than 20 years and has been recognized numerous times as one of the best family physicians in the area.
Having a primary care physician can be crucial to maintaining good health. Regular visits to monitor your health through routine screenings can catch warning signs or detect abnormalities that can help prevent serious diseases. It’s also beneficial for those who need assistance in managing chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, kidney disease, and high cholesterol.
Formerly known as Robertson County Medical Group, the location in Springfield was opened by Dr. Browning in 2002. The operation merged with Nashville-based Urgent Team in 2013 still under the direction of Dr. Browning who also serves as Chief Medical Officer for Urgent Team Family of Urgent Care & Walk-in Centers.
In 2020, the group entered into a joint venture with Ascension Saint Thomas and now provides outpatient medical care on a walk-in basis seven days a week. Online scheduling and virtual visits are available as well. In 2022 the clinic received the Urgent Care Association (UCA) Accreditation designation, the highest level of distinction for an urgent care center.

The center is open for walk-in care Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and is located at 2662 Memorial Boulevard in Springfield, next to Kroger Fuel. Most insurance plans are accepted.
