CLARKSVILLE, TENNESSEE (SMOKEY BARN NEWS) – Clarksville Police are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was found shot in the chest at the Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds Saturday evening.

UPDATE: According to officials in Clarksville, the juvenile has died from injuries sustained in the shooting.

According to Clarksville Police, the first call came in around 9:10 p.m., when off-duty officers working security at the venue reported hearing gunfire coming from the parking lot near the entrance.

According to PIO Scott Beaubien with the Clarksville Police Department, additional officers responded immediately and located the teen gunshot victim with a wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Tennova Healthcare.

Witnesses reported seeing five to six males fleeing the area on foot toward Hazelwood Road after the shooting. Police believe the incident was isolated.

Clarksville Police are asking anyone in the area with security cameras to check their footage. If anything suspicious is observed, please call 911.
