Teen Dies After Shooting at Clarksville Speedway/Fairgrounds
Update: Juvenile Suspect Arrested in May 31st Homicide at Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds

CLARKSVILLE, TENN. – Detectives with the Clarksville Police Department’s Special Operations Homicide Unit have arrested a juvenile in connection with the homicide that occurred on May 31, 2025, at the Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds. The young teenage suspect was taken into custody on June 3rd and has been formally charged with homicide.
Due to the suspect’s juvenile status, no further identifying information will be released. This case remains an active and ongoing investigation. At this time, no additional details are available for public release.

CLARKSVILLE, TENNESSEE (SMOKEY BARN NEWS) – Clarksville Police are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was found shot in the chest at the Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds Saturday evening.
UPDATE: According to officials in Clarksville, the juvenile has died from injuries sustained in the shooting.
According to Clarksville Police, the first call came in around 9:10 p.m., when off-duty officers working security at the venue reported hearing gunfire coming from the parking lot near the entrance.
According to PIO Scott Beaubien with the Clarksville Police Department, additional officers responded immediately and located the teen gunshot victim with a wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Tennova Healthcare.
Witnesses reported seeing five to six males fleeing the area on foot toward Hazelwood Road after the shooting. Police believe the incident was isolated.
Clarksville Police are asking anyone in the area with security cameras to check their footage. If anything suspicious is observed, please call 911.

The Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds at 1600 Needmore Road located at 1600 Needmore Road MAP, is primarily a motorsports venue featuring a 3/8-mile banked clay oval dirt track and a 1/8-mile two-lane drag strip.
