SECOND SUSPECT ARRESTED

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A manhunt near the Robertson, Montgomery and Cheatham County border caused lengthy traffic delays on I-24 Thursday afternoon.

Officials tell Smokey Barn News that the single male suspect with several federal warrants is believed to be on foot off I-24 between Hwy 49 and Maxie Rd. MAP

Several law enforcement agencies are currently searching for the suspect (now identified as Marvis Lamont Young, 34, of Springfield) for Federal Drug Distribution Charges.

Law enforcement spotted Marvis Young on I-24 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Young stopped the vehicle at 17 mm and fled on foot. The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, Cheatham County, Montgomery County, and Tennessee Highway Patrol have been searching the area.

A joint investigation of Marvis Young for the sale and delivery of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana has been conducted between Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, Springfield Police Department, DEA, ATF, TBI, and the 23rd Judicial Drug Task Force.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and Springfield Police Department initiated a search warrant on December 13th at Marvis Young’s residence on Bob Carr Rd. in Cross Plains, TN. MAP According to the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, inside the residence, 11.17 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, 34.9 grams of cocaine, 1 gram of heroin, a large amount of marijuana, digital scales, numerous baggies, 1 Glock 9mm pistol with extended magazine, and 1 Glock .40cal pistol were retrieved. Additional charges for Young are pending.

The pursuit for Young started around 4 pm Thursday afternoon in Springfield and landed on I-24 where the suspect pulled over and then fled on foot.

According to Cheatham County Sheriff Mike Breedlove,  after the suspect fled, a child was discovered in the vehicle and taken into police custody unharmed.

As of 6:10 pm, Sheriff Breedlove told Smokey Barn News that the suspect may have been picked up by someone but the search for the suspect was still ongoing.

UPDATE: 8:45 pm… The search for the suspect has ended for the evening and will resume tomorrow.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol assisted with an aerial search unit. Several agencies including the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the search.

UPDATE: Second suspect arrested….. Young still at large…

On today, December 14th, 2018, the on-going investigation into the location of suspect, Marvis Young, has led to the arrest of Danielle Marie Perry, 28 of Springfield, on several felony charges.  Investigators with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and Springfield Police Department identified Danielle Perry as an additional suspect in this case.

Investigators located and arrested Danielle Perry on the following charges pertaining to this case: Possession of Schedule II for Resale (Methamphetamine), Possession of Schedule II for Resale (Cocaine), Possession of Schedule VI for Resale (Marijuana), Possession of Schedule I (Heroin), Possession of a Weapon During a Dangerous Felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
