Mansfield Sentenced To 20 Years In DUI Crash That Killed His Two Children
ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Lukas Lee Mansfield has been sentenced to 20 years in prison following his conviction on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with the January 2025 DUI crash near Springfield that claimed the lives of his two children, 7-year-old Miah Mansfield and 4-year-old Jackson Mansfield.
During a sentencing hearing Thursday, Judge Goodman sentenced Mansfield to 20 years on each count of aggravated vehicular homicide, with the two sentences ordered to run concurrently, resulting in an effective 20-year sentence to be served in the Tennessee Department of Correction.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, the sentence is to be served at 100 percent, day for day, with no eligibility for parole. The Tennessee Department of Correction will determine where Mansfield serves the sentence.
The sentence follows a Robertson County jury’s May 7 conviction of Mansfield on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide. The jury returned its verdict following a full trial. Public information released following the verdict indicated evidence presented at trial showed Mansfield had a blood-alcohol concentration of .151 following the crash.
The crash occurred on January 10, 2025, at approximately 7:22 p.m. on Highway 161 outside Springfield. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary report obtained by Smokey Barn News following the crash, Mansfield was driving a 2022 RAM 1500 westbound when the truck left the roadway, struck a culvert, became airborne and then struck a utility pole. 
Miah, 7, and Jackson, 4, were passengers in the truck and died from injuries sustained in the crash. Mansfield survived. Smokey Barn News was there the night of the crash. Our full report can be found here.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney General Ann M. Kroeger.
With the two 20-year sentences running concurrently, Mansfield will serve an effective 20-year sentence.
