Millersville Appoints Nolensville Lt. Stephen Hale as New Police Chief

MILLERSVILLE, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Following the departure of Bryan Morris back in January, the City of Millersville has announced the selection of a new Police Chief.  According to Millersville Interim City Manager Michael Gorham, Stephen Hale of the Nolensville Police Department has been selected as the city’s new Police Chief.

Hale served as a Lieutenant and led the Nolensville Police Department through the National Accreditation process. He has also previously served with the LaVergne, Metro Nashville and Murfreesboro Police Departments. He completed the FBI Academy – Session 289 in March of 2024 and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) State Academy – Session 10 in 2021.

Hale is a veteran of both the United States Navy where he served as an Intelligence Analyst, and the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Squad Leader. He currently holds a Master’s degree in Theological Studies and is pursuing his PhD in Criminal Justice. Hale brings a wide range of experience to Millersville and is looking forward to working with community leadership to move the department forward. He hopes to meet with local business owners and begin community outreach programs. According to Gorham, Hale is already working on securing grants to provide better equipment for Millersville officers.

Chief Hale will be sworn in on Monday, May 5th, at City Hall in Millersville at 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
