Millersville City Manager Voted Out By Board In 3 To 2 Vote

MILLERSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – In a heated meeting Tuesday night, the Millersville Board of Commissioners voted not to retain the services of the city’s current City Manager Scott Avery in a 3 to 2 vote. Avery has held the position for one year.

Tina Tobin has been appointed as the interim City Manager. Mayor Tommy Long, Vice Mayor Milton Dorris, and Commissioner Alisa Huling voted to let Avery go. Commissioner Cristina Templet Commissioner David Gregory voted to retain him.

The vote to remove Avery came as a good number of voices stood in support of him. Anyone who asked why Avery should be let go; the response was that they don’t have to give a reason since he has held the job for over a year, so no reason was ever presented.
