Monday Brings Multiple Wrecks In Robertson County
ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Robertson County seemed to be plagued with unusual wrecks Monday. Several police agencies are investigating the wrecks that occurred between 2:00 pm and 8:00 p.m.. Though we did have some wet weather, there doesn’t seem to be a common cause connecting all the accidents.
Fortunately no serious injuries have been reported with any of the accidents. The first wreck occurred around 2:00 pm when a vehicle crashed into a building near the historic downtown Springfield square. VIDEO That’s the third vehicle to crash into a building in Springfield in just the last few weeks and all three occurred on Main St.. How’s that for weird?
Several hours later a vehicle crashed in to a support pillar at the Royal Inn located on Memorial blvd. Again, no one was seriously injured.
Minutes later police, fire and medics responded to a rollover accident on Kinneys Rd. The vehicle had overturned ending right in the middle of the road blocking both lanes for about an hour while the THP investigated the wreck and crews cleaned up the scene.
Just as first responders were preparing to leave the rollover on Kinneys Rd another call came in about another accident on Tom Austin Hwy, it involved a downed power line and a van. The call originally went out as a five car pile up but it turned out that only two vehicles were involved.
A van had left the roadway and impacted a utility pole and the power line ended up draped over the van trapping the man inside until CEMC could come and cut power to the line.
The second vehicle (a pickup truck) hit the downed power-lines that were draped across the road after the initial wreck, again, no serious injuries reported.
UPDATE: Officials told Smokey Barn News around 9:15 p.m. Monday evening that Tom Austin HWY will likely be closed for another two hours while CEMC repairs the damage, installs a new utility pole and restores power to the neighborhood
