Born February 16, 1935, in Haysi, Virginia. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Juanita Barton, daughter Pamela Barton Jaquess, grandson Eric Vanatta, and four great-grandchildren.
Thelma Grisham

Thelma Grisham, age 86, passed away peacefully in Atlanta, GA, on December 30, 2025. Born on January 28, 1939, in Willow Grove, TN, Thelma embraced life with a confident and headstrong spirit that was matched only by her sense of humor and sass.
Throughout her lifetime, Thelma cultivated a warm and welcoming home, especially during the holidays, when the spirit of family came alive. Many fond memories are treasured by her family, who often gathered at her house for Christmas celebrations filled with love, laughter, and the cozy tradition of wearing matching pajamas. Her home was a reflection of her vibrant personality, adorned with her cherished collection of unicorn decor, which she proudly displayed.
A lover of beauty in all its forms, Thelma enjoyed gardening and found joy in tending to her flower beds, allowing their vibrant florals to flourish. In her later years, she discovered a newfound passion for art, often capturing the beauty of the flowers she had nurtured through her paintings. Thelma possessed a keen eye for fashion and jewelry, reflecting her own beauty and personality.
Above all, Thelma’s proudest accomplishment was her family. She cherished them deeply, ensuring that their photos and memories were always prominently displayed around her home, showcasing her pride and love.
Thelma is preceded in death by her loving husband George Wallace Grisham, parents Hilery and Ada Key Estep, daughter Pamela Hall, son Gregory Thompson, and her grandchildren Amy and David Thompson. She is also preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters: Hubert Estep, Reba Estep Jackson, Harold Estep, Maureen Estep Clinard, Madeline Estep Howard, J.P. Estep, Norma Estep Murphy, Mary Estep Sanford. She is survived by her son Michael Thompson, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Although she is gone her memory will forever reside within them.
Thelma Grisham leaves behind a rich legacy filled with beautiful memories, a nurturing spirit, and unyielding love for her family. Her funeral service will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville, TN, on January 7, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens at 3:00 PM on the same day.

Mary Josephine Huddleston, age 76, of Springfield, TN passed away on January 3, 2026, after a number of medical complications. Born on July 22, 1949, in Nashville, Tennessee, Mary was known for her strong-willed and witty personality, with a massive love for her pets.
When she was able, in her free time she enjoyed baking and crocheting beautiful Afghan blankets and doilies. Retail therapy was another pastime of hers, where she enjoyed shopping, bringing home treasures that spoke to her unique sense of style.
Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Ray Huddleston, parents Michael and Lydia Kennedy, brother Michael Joseph Kennedy Jr., and grandson Shae Lynn Whitefield. She is survived by her son Terry Wayne Whitefield, daughter Donna Faye (Johnny) Huddleston – Hansel, son Danny Ray Huddleston, and daughter Lucy Ann Brooks – Malone. She is also survived by her grandchildren Amanda Raye Thornton, Samantha (Marcus) Spicer, Kasey Craig, A’leigha Danielle Huddleston, and Charlsey Raye (Dakota) Hogan, great grandchildren Tanner Huddleston Pence, Wrenly Raye Hogan, Brooks Thomas Hogan. Mary also leaves behind her sister Nora (John) Teems, sister-in-law Sue Kennedy, and nephew Kurt Kennedy.
Funeral services will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services located at 127 N. Main St, Goodlettsville, Tennessee 37072. Visitation will take place on January 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, followed by a second visitation on January 8, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, with our funeral service starting promptly at 2pm. Delores Faye Sandlin, a vibrant beacon of strength and love, was born on June 17, 1944, in McKee, Kentucky. She continued to carry that strength and love along with her in every aspect of her life, touching the hearts of many before her passing on January 3, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Throughout her years, Delores dedicated herself to the noble profession of a nurses aid, serving at a nursing home where her innate compassion shone brightest. Her retirement marked the end of a career that bore witness to her unwavering spirit, yet her legacy of love and care continued to permeate the lives she touched. As she ventured through life, she remained a fierce fighter, demonstrating a robust will and an unyielding positive attitude that lit up even the darkest of days. Delores was affectionately known as a ray of sunshine, embodying sweetness and strength in perfect harmony.
With a sharp mind complemented by an even sharper wit, Delores never hesitated to sprinkle her conversations with a hint of sass, always leaving those around her smiling. She carried a depth of love within her, ready to give freely to family and friends alike. Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her sons, who she cherished beyond measure, always telling them, “I’ll love you to the moon and back.” Her love for them was profound, her commitment to ensuring they were well-fed and cared for a testament to her devotion. Cooking was her love language, and one could often find the comforting aroma of her beloved cornbread wafting through her home, a testament to the nurturing spirit she embedded within family traditions.
A woman of strong Christian faith, her spirituality guided her life and infused her relationships with purpose and meaning. Delores’ love for the color purple resonated not only in her wardrobe but also in the essence of her vibrant personality, each shade reflecting her deep appreciation for beauty, both in nature and in the lives of those she held dear.
Delores is preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Sandlin, son Mike Sandlin, parents Bill and Dora Clemmons, as well as her brother Gary Clemmons. She is survived by her son Steve Sandlin, brother Edward Clemmons, and daughter Lisa Sullivan. She is also survived by her half-sisters JoAnne, Renee, and Margaret, her nieces and nephews: Ben, John, Greg, Julie, David, Missy, Joe, Jamie, Tina, Craig, Omar, Dawn, Brian, Lena, Robbie, Lisa, and Barbara, as well as her great nieces and nephews: Little David, Maverick, Scarlett, Brooklyn, and Tyler. Although she is gone her memory will forever reside within them all.
As we say goodbye to Delores Faye Sandlin, we remember a woman who fought valiantly, spread joy unfailingly, and loved deeply. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and unwavering strength that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. In her journey through life, she taught us the value of love, resilience, and the simple joy of a well-cooked meal shared among loved ones. Her spirit will continue to inspire us all as we carry her light forward in our lives. To quote her son Steve, “Mom has her Angel Wings now, God has welcomed his most beautiful and precious Angel into Heaven. I love you to the moon and back, Mom. Jack Fields, Jr

Jack Fields, Jr., a beloved figure in his community and a devoted family man, passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on July 20, 1959, Jack was the owner of HESCO Industries Incorporated, where he made significant contributions to his field.
Jack was much more than his professional achievements; he was an incredibly charming man known for his generous spirit. With a personality that made it easy for him to connect with others, he truly embodied the saying of never meeting a stranger. Those who knew him often remarked how he would give a stranger the shirt off his back, showcasing his extraordinary kindness and giving nature. Many would describe him as a 66-year-old man in a 15-year-old body, highlighting his youthful exuberance and zest for life.
A true family man, Jack held his family bonds in the highest regard. He took immense pride in being a father to Nicholas Adam Fields, whom he affectionately called “Nick,” and Jessica Lynn Fields, as well as Emilee R. Fields. His role as a grandfather was something he treasured deeply; known as Pop Pop, he shared countless joyful moments with his grandchildren, Oliver Rutledge Maggart and London Briggs Maggart.
Jack’s passion for cars and motorcycles, as well as his dog, Super Man; was well-known, as he poured his heart into these hobbies, often sharing them with those closest to him. He was a dedicated and thoughtful brother to David Presley Fields (Tonia) and Terri Ann Fields, and although he faced the loss of two sisters, Jackie Lynn Fields and Patricia Louise Carnes, he carried their memories with him.
As we reflect on Jack’s life, we remember not only his accomplishments but also the warmth and love he imparted to those fortunate enough to know him. He will be missed deeply by all whose lives he touched.

Faye D. Carnahan, a sweet and nurturing soul, stopped dying and started living when she entered eternal rest on January 5, 2026, in Gallatin, Tennessee, at the age of 84. Born on September 8, 1941, in Lewisburg, TN, she radiated joy and warmth throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
Faye dedicated many years of her life as a receptionist at Goodpasture Christian School. Those who worked alongside her remember not just a colleague, but a friend whose kindness and laughter created a welcoming atmosphere. She thrived on connections, a trait reflected in her vibrant personality; Faye was known for her clever wit, competitive spirit, and infectious smile.
Her greatest pride, however, lays in her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother she cherished and cared for her loved ones immensely, always ensuring they were taken care of. Faye’s love was unconditional, her nurturing spirit serving as the cornerstone of her family’s happiness. Her grandkids were the light of her life, and she made it a point to attend their sports games, proudly cheering them on from the stands.
Faye found joy in many hobbies; she was an avid cook, known for her extraordinary culinary skills. Family gatherings became a highlight, showcasing her talents and creating lasting memories over lovingly prepared meals. At home, she enjoyed watching sports, particularly the Atlanta Braves baseball games and tuned into basketball, where her enthusiasm only grew with each play.
Her creative spirit was further expressed through her sewing. As a long-time member of the Goodlettsville Church of Christ’s Sewing Sisters, Faye passionately took on the task of making aprons and other garments for the church’s mission trips. In her quieter moments, she frequently indulged in board games and card games, filling her home with laughter and friendly competition. When she was able, she would often relished the joy of bowling.
A woman of steadfast Christian faith, Faye was an active and longtime member of both the Madison Church of Christ and Goodlettsville Church of Christ. She devoted herself to serving her church community, where she assisted with parties and showers, creating a joyous atmosphere for her fellow members and loved ones celebrating babies, brides, and weddings.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents R.C. and Frances DeWire, and brother Phillip DeWire. She is once again reunited in heaven with her husband James Carnahan. Faye is survived by her children Tim (Melissa) Carnahan, Jeff (Linda) Carnahan, Keith (Lisa) Carnahan, grandchildren Katelin (Nate) Carper, Alden (Katie) Carnahan, Branston Carnahan, Nathan (Lauren) Carnahan, Mitchell (Ashley) Carnahan, Alyssa (Jonathon) Hedford, Ashton (Thomas) Werfel, and Allie (Brett) Richardson. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren: William, Camille, Carolyn, Mia, Jacob, Finley Beth, Walt, Evie Jane, Grady, as well as nieces and nephews.
Faye’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and unyielding support for her family and friends. Her spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those she has touched.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville on January 9, 2026, from 5 PM to 8 PM and again on January 10, 2026, from 11 AM to 12 PM. A funeral service will follow at 12 PM, with interment taking place at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens at 1 PM.

Leonard Douglas Spicer, 61, died Sunday December 28, 2025, at his home in Nashville. Leonard was born November 8, 1964, in Springfield, to the late Richard Edward and Janet Prete Spicer, Sr. He was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1982 and went on to receive his bachelors from MTSU and his masters in English from APSU. Leonard worked many years in the clerical field, was of the Catholic faith, and he enjoyed reading, painting, and listening to music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Regina Marie Spicer. Leonard is survived by his brothers: Richard Edward Spicer, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, and Joseph Augustine (Lisa Zangora) Spicer of Clarksville, by his sisters: Louise (Anthony) Stephson of Murfreesboro, and Josephine Elizabeth Spicer of Springfield, and by several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a time of visitation on Friday January 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home in Springfield.

James McCoy Kopulos, Sr., age 57, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at his home. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Springfield Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rob Caton officiating. Pallbearers will be Paul Darrow, Bobby Pankow, Cody Pankow, Nick Kopulos, Christopher Waller, Wayne Ayers, Wayne White, Ernest Searcy, and Richard Hardaway. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Robertson County Funeral Home.
Mr. Kopulos was born on December 30, 1968, in Chicago, IL, to the late George Kopulos, Sr. and Diane Hulsey Kopulos. He attended Robertson County Church of Christ. Mr. Kopulos was known for his love of animals, and especially his dogs. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, working on cars, cheering on the Cubs, and above all spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Kopulos is preceded in death by his father: George Kopulos, Sr., and children: James McCoy Kopulos, Jr., Jason Allen Kopulos, and Jamie Ann Kopulos. He is survived by his mother: Lois Diane Kopulos of Springfield, wife: Lisa Diane Kopulos of Springfield, daughter: Julie Grace Kopulos of Springfield, and by his grandchildren: Keaton McCoy Kopulos, Brianna Nicole Denney, Austin Dwayne Denney, Kameron James Freeman, Alaina Marie Kopulos, and Brenden Lee Kopulos.

Timothy McDonald Mayes, age 66 of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at his home. His wishes were to be cremated and services will be held at a later date
Timmy was born June 11, 1959 in Springfield to the late Charles Reuben and Betty Thaxton Mayes. He was a heavy equipment Operator with Vulcan Materials Company in Springfield. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing and enjoyed going fishing in his younger years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Arnold.
Surviving him are his wife, Diane Spicer Mayes of Springfield; sons, Timothy Craig (Sarah) Mayes, Charles Anthony Mayes, and Joshua Grant Mayes (Carissa Gant), all of Elkton, KY; step-daughter, Angie (Damion) Crocker of Springfield; brother, Charlie (Debbie) Mayes of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Sandra was born on October 13, 1948 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Dorothy Virginia Corbitt. She was retired after 20 years as Chief Deputy Clerk of Cheatham County General Sessions Court. She loved working in her flower garden and her work at church where she was a member at Bearwallow Church of Christ.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Shadowens; brothers, Tommy Guill and Gary Guill, and sisters, Joyce Biggs and Faye McCoy.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Larry Shadowens; daughter-in-law, Gina Shadowens; brother, Tim (Colleen) Caldera; grandchildren, Mason Shadowens and Katie (Nick) Moon; and one great-grandson, Mitchell.

Clarice was a designer at Florshein Shoe Company. She was a member of Greenridge Church of Christ where she loved her church family. She also loved her family members very much, enjoyed working for Meals on Wheels and loved her cats.

Mr. Bobby was born on September 20, 1942, in Adams, Tennessee, to the late Emmett & Della Ogg. He was a farmer and previously worked at Trane for 20 years. He enjoyed bowling in leagues and avidly supported his family in sports. However, nothing brought him more pleasure than watching his son/grandkids in their extracurricular activities. He also loved to eat out with family, especially the ‘bloomin onion” at Outback. He was a member of Stroudsville Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Ogg and Joe “Willard” Ogg; sisters, Dorothy Nell Ogg, Marion Ogg, Ludell Bourne (Donald); and mother of his children, Carol Ogg.
He is survived by son, Bobby (Amanda) Ogg Jr.; daughter, Carla (Johnny) Schaadt; sister, Patsy (John) Herron; grandchildren, Alec (Madison) Wimmer, Brittney (Isaac) Bourne, Abigail (Luke) Tucker, Allison (Zachary) Huff, and Bobby (Charley) Ogg, III; and 4 great-grandchildren, Mary Anne Huff, Emmett Bourne, Gia Bourne, and Ambrose Bourne; and loving nieces & nephews.

Kelly May Winchester, age 61, of Adams, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026 at her home. Mrs. Winchester’s wishes were to be cremated and there are no services scheduled at this time.
Mrs. Winchester was born September 16, 1964, in Quincy, Mass. To the late Dempsey Raymond Akridge and the late Anita Claire Raymond Akridge. She was a loving mother and grandmother and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Winchester was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Lyn Winchester; brothers, Ralph Akridge and Mark Akridge; and a sister, Donna Frost.
She is survived by her son, Travis (Crystal) Winchester; daughter, Christy (Todd) Burggrave; 5 grandchildren, Madison Winchester, Emilee Winchester, Hunter Winchester, Alexis Burggrave and Kaiden Burggrave; and a brother, Ray Akridge.

Ronnie Ray Koonce
October 18, 1957 – January 5, 2026
Ronie Ray Koonce, age 68 of Greenbrier passed away Monday, January 5, 2026 at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm, Saturday January 10th, 2026 in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier. The family will receive friends 10am until the time of service on Saturday.
Ronnie was born October 18, 1957 in Nashville, TN to the late William Herschell and Joyce Yarborugh Koonce.
He was a Master of Fabrication in the Racing Industry. He loved racing, racing and racing. He did mechanical work for various racing personalities and was building a “Talladega bus” to drive to the races.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Blanton Koonce; sons, Justin (Melisa) Binkley, Larry DeSheles; daughters, Casy (Michael) Moulder, Cacy (Jeff) Victory; sister, Bonnie “Sissy” (Todd) Varney; grandchildren, Krisline Binkley, Colton Binkley, Calie Dilks, Makayla Moulder, Mallory Moulder, Lexi Ouellette; great grandchildren, Jackson Townsend, Ridlee Minton; brother-in-law, Cleavland Blanton; nieces, Kristin Delashmitt, Rebecca Delashmitt and great nephew, Weston Delashmitt.

George Thurman Barnes
August 27, 1935 – January 7, 2026
George Thurman Barnes, age 90 of Cross Plains went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Stone Creek Memory Care in Hendersonville. He was born August 27, 1935 in Fudgearound, TN to John Thurman and Mattie Flossie Elizabeth Gilley Barnes. He was employed with Bailey’s Body Shop as an auto body repairman in his earlier years.
Later in life, he developed a passion for woodworking and built many pieces of furniture for his family and friends. He loved to garden and was especially proud of his tomatoes. He was an excellent athlete who played and coached in the Nashville Adult Baseball league in the 1960s as well as several softball teams throughout his adulthood. He loved all sports, but especially was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Vanderbilt Commodores.
He never met a stranger and loved to joke around with everyone he met. He was a member of Beacon Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 ½ years Lillian Evelyn Spry Barnes; his parents; brothers Beauman Barnes, WC Barnes, Richard Barnes and Freddie Barnes; sisters Norene West and Juanita Barnes.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Deena) Barnes of Cross Plains, Lisa (Ricky) Morris of White House, Randy (Keri) Barnes of Greenbrier and Crystal (Chuck) O’Brien of Greenbrier; brother Larry (Anjie) Barnes of Manchester; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11am Monday, January 12, 2026 at Woodlawn Memorial Park with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 11, 2026 3pm-8pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Alzheimer’s Association. Patricia “Patsy” Lynn Washer

Patricia Lynn “Patsy” Washer, age 70, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Morningside of Springfield. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at 1pm Saturday, January 10th, in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Joe Rushing and Bro. Barry Throneberry officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Ms. Washer was born January 24, 1955, in Springfield, to the late William Joseph Wieger and the late Sylvia LaVergne McCroy Wieger. She was a retired Retail Specialist with the U.S. Postal Service. Ms. Washer was the most wonderful human being, loved everyone and everybody loved her. She lived to help other people.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Washer was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Woody; and a sister, Debbie Huffine.
She is survived by her son, Jeremy Washer; 3 grandchildren, Braden Poole, Kailey Woody and Clay Woody; 2 great grandchildren, Wesley Eidson and Brooklynn Sensing; and sisters, Laurel (Bruce) Head, Carol (Burt) Castleman and Cindy Thompson.
