Chester Lee Thompson, Sr.

Chester Lee Thompson Sr. 84 Of Greenbrier Tennessee, Went home to our Lord Jesus on July 31st 2026 at Alive Hospice in Nashville Tennessee.
He was with his son Chester Thompson Jr. and daughter in law Valerie Thompson at the time of his passing. Chester was born in Lincoln County, KY on May 4th 1942. The son of Marvin Thompson and Mollie (Caudill) Thompson.
Chester recently celebrated 65 years of marriage, to the one and only love of his life Shirley Ann (Williams) Thompson. Chester was a hard working self made man who was self employed his whole life. Chester and Shirley started their first Business around 1970, a restaurant named “Chicken Out” where they served the worlds BEST Broasted Chicken! Chester went on to own several other restaurants, including “The Golden Drumstick” and “Blackbeard’s Galley” Fish and Chips, He even learned to take over a Dry Cleaning business and leaned to tailor clothes! But the business that he was most known for was Creating “Art Creations by Shir-Lee” a native American art business. His family run business sold his artwork worldwide, including art galleries and even Disneyworld where he was paid as a “Special Guest Appearance” to display and show him at work with his artwork! Chesters passions were Gambling and Cars, Chester owned dozens of rare classic Chevrolets over his life, and still had a Corvette in his garage at age 84. Chester loved Old school country music and rock and roll. Johnny Cash, Elvis, Waylon Jennings, and Freddy Fender.
In addition to his parents Chester is Predeceased by his Brothers Arthur, and Wendell, His sister Lurlie, and his beloved daughter Kim Renee Thompson.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife Shirley Ann Thompson, Are His Beloved son Chester Lee Thompson Jr. daughter Patricia Thompson, Grandson Daniel Thompson, Granddaughters Crystal (Cody) Waggett , Rebecca Thompson, Katrina Moran, Great granddaughters Bridgette Thompson, Chandler Waggett, and Isabella Allen. Sisters Geraldine Daily, Marcalene Wilson and numerous niece’s nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date to be determined.
Mary Newton (Jill) Callaway Garrett

Preceded in death by her parents John Lea and Elizabeth Rose Christrup Callaway, husband Glen Gerald (Jerry) Garrett, Jr and daughter Mary (Mollie) Callaway Garrett. Survived by her children Glen (Cari) Garrett and Christie (Todd) Moore. Grandchildren Gracyn (James) Wilbanks, Carson (Halle) Garrett, Wilson (Claire) Garrett, Jim and Mollie Moore. Great grandchildren Leo and Wells Wilbanks.
Born in Lakehurst, NJ at the US Navy Air Station, Jill moved to Birmingham and then her father’s hometown of Knoxville, TN at the age of 5. She graduated from West High School, attended Mary Baldwin College and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1963. It was at the university where she met her husband, Jerry, on a blind date. They married on August 17, 1963 and moved to Goodletsville, TN. Jill was an active member of the Junior League, Garden Club, Civitan Club and First Baptist Church Goodlettsville. After raising 3 children, she became a travel agent booking corporate and leisure travel for 25 years before retiring. Jill began painting in retirement, a hobby she thoroughly enjoyed. She and Jerry were fortunate to travel extensively in the United States and Europe and were always planning their next trip. Her favorite was the annual family trip to Pawleys Island. Jill loved spending time with her grandchildren the most. She was a faithful servant of God, her family and her community.
The family would like to thank the staff at Clarendale Memory Care, Alive Hospice and Preferred Care for their exceptional care during the last few months.
A private graveside service for family will be held on Saturday morning, August 15. Pallbearers include Carson Garrett, Wilson Garrett, Jim Moore, Conner Prichard and James Wilbanks.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Saturday, August 15 from 11 am – 1 pm at First Baptist Church Goodlettsville followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1 pm.
Donations can be made in Jill’s memory to the Goodlettsville Help Center or the Nashville Ronald McDonald House, both places with special meaning to the family.
Allan Ellis

75 Years Old
Allan Steven Ellis, age 75, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026.
Born on April 6, 1951, in Springfield, Tennessee, Allan was the son of the late Bates and Mary Lou Ellis. A lifelong resident of Robertson County, he dedicated his life to serving his community, his church, and his family.
Allan graduated from Springfield High School in 1969, where he distinguished himself as an exceptional student-athlete. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee, preparing for a career of public service that would leave a lasting impact on his hometown.
On August 6, 1977, Allan married the love of his life, Debby. Although they would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in just a few days, they had been together for 50 wonderful years, building a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion.
Following college, Allan worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation for 10 years before returning home to Springfield. He served the City of Springfield as Director of Public Works for nearly 30 years while also serving as the City’s Licensed Professional Engineer. He was also a certified land surveyor. His dedication, expertise, and integrity helped shape the infrastructure and growth of the community he loved.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Allan was a devoted member of Barren Plains Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as both Deacon and Treasurer for more than 40 years. His quiet leadership, steadfast faith, and servant’s heart touched countless lives within his church family.
Above all else, Allan loved his family. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his daughters and grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Whether attending their activities, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time together, his family was always his greatest treasure.
Anyone who knew Allan knew he never met a stranger, and his warm smile, genuine interest in others, and kind spirit made friends wherever he went.
When he wasn’t serving his community or spending time with family, Allan could usually be found on his beloved 100-acre farm in the Barren Plains community, raising beef cattle, producing oil and natural gas, or teaching his kids and grandkids how to drive. He loved planning road trips with his trusty road atlas, carefully mapping scenic backroads that almost always led to a historical park, monument, or Civil War battlefield. Friday nights often found him at the movie theater with a large bucket of popcorn and a Diet Coke, while Saturday evenings were reserved for listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio.
In 2025, Allan was inducted into the Springfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding athletic career. As an offensive tackle and linebacker, he helped lead the Yellow Jackets to the Tobacco Bowl Championship in 1967, earned All Mid-State Team honors in 1968, and was selected to the West All-Star Football Team to represent Springfield in the prestigious TSSAA East-West All-Star Game in 1969. A gifted all-around athlete, Allan also competed in basketball and baseball, earning All-District honors on the diamond.
In addition to his parents, Allan was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome Ellis, and his nephew, Jeffrey Ellis.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Debby Ellis; daughters, Emily (Tim) Head, of Springfield, and Jessica (Jeremy) Durham of Brentwood; grandchildren, Steven Bates Head, Jordan Grace Head, Jackson Ryan Durham, and Jameson Allan Durham; sister, Alice Marie (Russell) Pae of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Linda Ellis of Goodlettsville, and Judy Holman of Springfield, and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 6th at 1:00 p.m. at the Barren Plains Baptist Church with Bro. Adam Hodges and Bro. Chad Diehl officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tim Head, Steven Head, Jeremy Durham, Jackson Durham, David Harden, Levi Harden, Tim Ellis, and Charlie Pae serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Head, Jameson Durham, Staff Sergeant John Holman Taylor, the Springfield High School Class of 1969, and the Deacons of Barren Plains Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Barren Plains Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Barren Plains Baptist Church Memorial Fund or the American Heart Association.
Though Allan’s accomplishments were many, he will be remembered most for the way he lived—with humility, faith, generosity, and an abiding love for God, his family, and his community. His legacy will continue in the lives he touched and in the example he set for all who knew him.

Linda Carlisle Romero
August 27, 1943 – July 28, 2026
Linda Carlisle Romero, age 82 of White House went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Skyline Medical Center. She was born August 27, 1943 in Nashville, TN to Carlus & Mary Mai Cantrell Carlisle. She owned and operated a window cleaning service for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, working crossword puzzles, taking cruises and walking daily. In the 1970’s, she was crowned the Tennessee Barrel Racing Champion. Over a thirty-year span, she helped to raise over 130 foster children.
Linda was a member of White House Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Carlisle, Carlus Carlisle, Jr., and Fred Carlisle; sisters, Frances Neal, Melba Binkley and Norma Jean Harris. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Eddie Romero, White House, TN; son, Kevin Hymer, Joelton, TN; daughters, Karyn (Robin Tatum) Horner, Goodlettsville, TN, Katie Wilson, Greenbrier, TN, Michelle (Mark) Nelson, and Sherry Aquino Romero, both of Colorado Springs, CO; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 12PM at White House Church of Christ with David Swanger and Dickie Neal officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 10AM-12PM prior to the service at the church. Joy Anneta Harbeson

In Loving Memory of Joy Anneta Harbeson
With hearts filled with both sorrow and hope, we celebrate the life of Joy Anneta (Dotson) Harbeson, who walked on in spirit on July 28, 2026, at the age of 91. While her earthly journey has come to a close, her family rejoices in the assurance that she now rests with God and is reunited with her beloved husband, Leland Harbeson.
Joy was born on July 11, 1935, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, to Harold Rufus Dotson and Bonnie Lee (Tate) Dotson. She lived a life characterized by unwavering faith, steadfast love, humility, and compassion. She understood that life’s greatest purpose was to love God and love others, reflecting Christ’s love through her words, her actions, and the quiet example she set each day. Throughout her life, Joy lived in Oklahoma, Texas, and California, eventually making her home in Los Angeles, where she created a warm and welcoming place for her church family, relatives, and countless friends.
Later, she and her husband moved to Cross Plains and White House, Tennessee, where their daughter, Tammy (Harbeson) Pugliese, lovingly cared for and supported them. After Lee’s passing, Joy lived with her daughter Kathy LeMieux in Minnesota, and later with her daughter Laurie Graham in California, where she remained until she passed peacefully in her sleep.
Joy often shared stories of her childhood, recalling how she began picking cotton at just five years old, dragging a large sack behind her mother through the fields. She treasured memories of East Los Angeles, especially its orange orchards during the 1960s and 1970s and visits to Olvera Street. As a young girl, she lovingly helped care for her two younger brothers while her mother worked two jobs every day for more than 25 years Joy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful member of her church.
Her life’s work was centered in her home and her faith. She graciously opened her home to pastors, elders, family, and friends — preparing meals, hosting visitors, and traveling countless miles to church campgrounds and meetings in support of the ministry she and Lee loved.
She was especially known for her homemade German chocolate cake and her scratch-made bacon and sausage gravy, dishes eagerly requested by family and friends. Whenever ministry called, Joy willingly moved across the country beside her husband, supporting him with quiet strength and unwavering devotion. For twelve years, Joy faithfully accompanied Lee during his service with the United States Navy Seabees, including the Korean War conflict. embracing the sacrifices and adventures of military life. Together they enjoyed dancing to the lively polkas and swing partner dances of the 1950s, creating joyful memories that remained dear throughout their lives. Their favorite dance was the Parisian Les Apaches.
Joy also had a special love for dolls and children’s toys. Remembering the hardships of growing up during the Great Depression, she created a section in Lee’s store devoted to dolls and toys—items she had longed for as a child but could not afford. Her generous spirit and tender heart were reflected in everything she did. She dedicated her days to caring for the people she loved. Whether preparing a Sunday family dinner, welcoming guests into her home, or offering quiet encouragement, Joy had a remarkable gift for making others feel loved and at peace. Above all, she taught her family to follow Christ through the example of her own steadfast faith and Christian character.
Joy is lovingly survived by her daughters, Kathy (Ken) LeMieux, Tammy (Steve) Pugliese, and Laurie (Eric) Graham; her grandchildren, Tim Lee Clifford, Trina (Kevin) Berry, Cheri, Lance (Bonnie) Pugliese, Luke (Madison) Pugliese, Wesley (Lindsay) Kenyon, Lula (Max) LeMieux Graham and Alana LeMieux; her great-grandchildren, Westin, Keslin, Hazel, Mason, Carter, Violet, Roman, Kily, Lincoln, Jace, Sadie, Kaia, Campbell; and many cherished family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Rufus Dotson, Sr., and Bonnie Lee (Tate) Dotson; her beloved husband, Leland H. Harbeson; and her brothers, Harold Dotson Jr., and David Dotson.
Though we grieve her absence, we do not grieve without hope. As Scripture reminds us: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
Joy has now received that eternal home where there is no more pain, sorrow, or death, but everlasting peace and perfect joy. A graveside Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 1PM in White House Memorial Gardens, 3639 Hwy. 31W, White House, Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to gather graveside only, in thanksgiving for a life well lived. We thank God for the blessing of Joy’s life and the countless ways she reflected His love to everyone she encountered. Her legacy is one of faith, kindness, grace, and enduring love. Though she will be deeply missed, her family rests in the sure hope that this farewell is not forever. Until that glorious day of reunion, her memory will remain a treasured blessing, and her witness of faith will continue to inspire generations to come.

Kelly Nicholson

Kelly Diane Nicholson, age 57, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at her home.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Kelly was born on June 24, 1969, in Springfield, Tennessee, to the late Roy & Mary Ann Stephens Gower. She worked at Wendy’s, and in the 18 years she was there, she brightened the day of many in the community with her smile and good nature. She enjoyed cooking and watching her grandson, whom she loved fiercely, play soccer. She was a lifelong friend to many and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Nicholson; and sisters, Donna J. Statonstall and Christy E. Gower.
She is survived by her son, Hunter Nicholson (JoAnna); daughter, Caitlyn Nicholson; brother, Micheal Gower; sister, Lisa Russell; grandson, Clay Nicholson; and granddaughter on the way, Cora.

Sherry Lee Eden
September 14, 1944 – July 30, 2026
Sherry Lee Eden, age 81, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday July 30, 2026. She was born on September 14, 1944 in Waverly, TN to Elvis and Mildred Story. Sherry was a 1962 graduate of Springfield High School. She worked alongside her husband as office manager of their company EUSCO, Inc until their retirement in 2004.
Mrs. Eden was a member of White House First United Methodist Church where she served on and chaired numerous committees, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, led the UMYF, started and ran the Mother’s Day Out program for many years and organized the Annual Fish Fry and Auction. She was a Dixie Youth softball coach, and a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. Sherry was a member of the White House Chamber of Commerce and was named Citizen of the Year in 1986.
Mrs. Eden had a passion for community libraries and was instrumental in the construction of the White House Inn & Library as the TN Homecoming 1986 project. For this, she was a finalist for the Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteer of the Year award for the State of TN that same year. She founded the Friends of the Library in White House.
Sherry loved decorating the Library Christmas trees with a different theme each year. Mrs. Eden served on the committees to build the current libraries in both White House and the Stokes Brown Library in Springfield, TN. She loved butterflies and a beautiful butterfly garden was created in her honor at the White House Library. Sherry served on the United Way Board, the Northcrest Foundation and Relay for Life.
Mrs. Eden had an extraordinary ability to fundraise. In her retirement, she became a consultant for Rodan + Fields skincare. She was famous for her sourdough bread and she loved to cook. Sherry also loved to travel and planned annual epic family vacations. More than anything, she loved her family and one of her favorite roles was being Gran to her 4 grandchildren. Faith, family, service and giving were the epitome of her character. She loved the Lord, loved her family and served her community well.
Mrs. Eden was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Durrett, husband of 50 years Don Eden and brothers Robert Story, Glenn Story and Jerry Story. She is survived by her son Donnie (Mandy) Eden, Greenbrier, TN; daughter Kim (Mark) Reid, White House, TN; 4 grandchildren: Christian (Sadie) Reid, Carson Reid, Abby Eden, Gracie Eden; sister Peggy Gray, Springfield, TN and brother Dale (Carrie) Story, Portland, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Saturday, August 8th in the Fellowship Hall of White House First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Paul Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Friday and again from 10-11am Saturday also in the WHFUMC Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow in White House Memorial Gardens with Mark Reid, Christian Reid, Carson Reid, Mike Story, Gus Eden and Josh Story serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Story, Terry Eden, Tony James, David James, Joel Thompson and Joe Eden. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity or non-profit in Sherry’s memory.

Elsie Christine Sharpe

Elsie Christine Sharpe, age 78 of White House passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026 at her home. She was born March 27, 1948 in Zion, Illinois to Charles Harry & Mary Lamb Christine Pyle York. She worked as a CPA for 31W Insulation and was a member of Portland Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed looking for shells on the beach, bird watching, crocheting, doing cross stitch, lighthouses and she was good at numbers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sandra Mulley and Sharon Beck. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ed Sharpe, White House, TN; son, William Edwin (Michelle) Sharpe, Jr., Mansfield, TX; daughters, Elaine (Stephen) Chamberlain and Karen (Chad) Carney both of Westmoreland, TN and Janet Pulley, Portland, TN; brother, Charles Henry York, Jr., Cottontown, TN; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Bonnie Moore

Bonnie Balthrop Moore, age 87 of Pleasant View, Tennessee passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday, August 1, 2026, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock am, Wednesday, August 5th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Pastor Mike Hollis and Bro. Randy Riggs officiating.
Burial will follow at EverRest of Cheatham with Wade Moore, Michael Moore, Hunter Moore, Stevie Duke, Chris Duke, Brandon Duke, Joseph Kalany, and Mike Kalany serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 4th from 4:00-8:00PM, and again on Wednesday beginning at 9:00AM until the hour of service at 11:00AM.
Mrs. Bonnie was born on August 12,1938 in Chapmansboro, Tennessee to the late Elbert & Martha Morris Balthrop. She retired after 40 plus years with State Industries as a Human Resources Director. Her greatest joy was watching her kids and grandkids play in sports activities. In her younger years, she loved to hike. She enjoyed reading and also going on senior events and outings with her church family and was a longtime member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Moore; brothers, Burton, R.W., Dorris, J.B., Ray, Howard, Clyde, and Frank Balthrop; sisters, Dorothy Hudgens, Frances Head, and Dimple Gupton.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony Moore and Dwayne (Anna) Moore; daughters, Angelia Duke and Dawn (Stephen) Shone; sister, Faye Murphey; grandchildren, Sonya Kalany, Wade Moore, Brooke Cole, Stevie Duke, Chris Duke, Brandon Duke, Kimberly Jones, Michael Moore, Kayla Ostheimer, Taylor Shone Huckabee; 20 great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Phillip Carr
June 17, 1938 – August 1, 2026
Phillip Rea Carr passed away peacefully at his home in Cedar Hill, Tennessee on August 1st 2026. He was born on June 17th 1938 in Linton, Kentucky to Nello Wayne and Mary Irene Carr. He was one of their nine children. On November 9th 1957 he married Neada, the love of his life, and for the next 66 years they built an amazing life together. The nearly three years he lived without her were a testament to the depth of a love that never faded.
He was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. More than anything, he will be remembered for the kindness and generosity he showed to everyone he met. His home was always open, and his swimming pool became a gathering place where family, friends, neighbors, and countless children made memories that will last a lifetime. While dedicating nearly 40 years of service to Ford Motor Company, he and Neada raised eight children, teaching them the value of hard work, honesty, compassion, and kindness through the example he set every day. His love and generosity extended far beyond his own family, and everyone who knew him was made to feel welcome. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his warmth, guidance, and unwavering love.
He was predeceased by his wife, Neada Ray (George) Carr, his parents, Nello Wayne and Mary Irene Carr, brother, Cleland Carr, sister, Mary Margaret Sills, brother, William (Bill) Carr, sister, Eva Hargis, brother, Don Carr, brother, Wayne Carr, twin sister, Kay Carpenter, son, George Carr, son, Andrew Carr, grandson, Christian Carr, and grandson, Gunther Helm. He is survived by his sister, June Osborne, daughter-in-law, Debbie Carr, son, Tony Carr, daughter, Mary Castleman, son, Chris Carr (Joan), daughter-in-law, JoAnna Carr, daughter, Eve Helm (Wayne), son, Stephen Carr (Beth), son, Nathan Carr (Michelle), 28 grandkids, 29 great grandkids, 1 great granddaughter on the way, 5 great great grandkids, many more extended family members, and countless others that called him “Grandaddy”.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Cedars at Carr Farm in Cedar Hill, Tennessee on August 8th. Visitation will be from 10 AM until 1 PM with a memorial service starting at 1 PM followed by a burial on the family farm.

Alice Eldora Gerrans
June 26, 1932 – August 2, 2026
Alice Eldora Gerrans, age 94 of Cottontown passed away Sunday night August 2, 2026 at her home. She was born June 26, 1932 in San Jose, California to Bert & Edith Likely Gerrans. She worked as a registered nurse at Loma Linda University Hospital until her retirement. She worked in the ICU and cared for people and the best and worst times of their lives. She loved cats and was very talented in cake decorating. Miss Gerrans was a member of White House Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wesley Gerrans; sisters, Cecelia Sewell, Willadel Nelson and Leola Cote’. She is survived by sister, Verna (Del) Dimick, Crossville, TN; 15 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 4pm at White House Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Jeremy Leggett officiating.

Tracie Lynn Simmons passed away August 4, 2026.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o’clock pm, Monday, August 10th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View.
Burial will follow in the Bearwallow Community Cemetery in Ashland City with family & friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 9th from 2:00-5:00PM, and again on Monday beginning at 12:00PM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.
Tracie was the youngest of 4 daughters. She was raised in Ashland City and lived in the family home all her life. She had a heart full of love and devotion to family and close friends. She will be remembered for her willingness to help anyone at any time. Tracie was a devoted caregiver for over 30 years. She truly gave her all.
Tracie is preceded in death by her parents, G.L. and Christine; and sister, June Simmons Green.
She is survived by sisters, Sue Harp (Jim) and Margie Walker (Tim); nieces and nephews, Patti Carroll (Jimmy), Rick McCracken, Lori (Grant) Zanini, and David (Kelli) Walker; and 7 great-nieces and great-nephews, who she adored and always gifted for birthdays and Christmas, Cameron (Sara), Dawson, Preston, Brooklyn, Riley, Dylan, and Payton.

Andrew Lloyd Lang 1940-2026
Andrew Lloyd Lang, beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully July 12, 2026 at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 6, 1940, in Arlington, Virginia, Andy was the son of the late Frankie Riordan Lang and Albert Kenneth Lang. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Linda Ayersman Lang, and his sister, Barbara Lang Poetzman.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (James) Long; his son, Jason (Amy Beville) Lang; his cherished granddaughters, Libby Long and Ainsley Long and niece Kelly Poetzman Jeffries.
Andy grew up in Arlington, Virginia, and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1958. Following graduation, Andy proudly enlisted in the United States Army and served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division, as a communications specialist. His service as a member of the 101st Airborne was among the crowning achievements of his life, a distinction he cherished and spoke of with great pride for the remainder of his years. After completing his military service, Andy pursued his education at the University of Tennessee, earning both his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor. He remained a devoted and proud Tennessee Volunteer throughout his life.
In 1969, Andy married the love of his life, Linda Ayersman. They spent 30 years in Cincinnati working and raising their family. Andy dedicated his professional career to public service, practicing law with the National Labor Relations Board in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Portland, Oregon. He retired in December 2001 after nearly 30 years of distinguished service.
Following retirement, Andy and Linda settled in White Salmon, Washington, where they embraced the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and delighted in welcoming family and friends to their home. They were active members of White Salmon First United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling together while creating treasured memories.
In 2010, Andy and Linda began splitting their time between White Salmon and Springfield, Tennessee, eventually making Springfield their full-time home in 2021. Andy became an active member of Springfield First United Methodist Church, where he participated in the Grand Sweep Sunday School Class. He also belonged to the New Chapel Men’s Club and Springfield VFW Post 2120, where he faithfully served as chaplain. Andy volunteered with United Ministries and greatly valued the friendships he formed with the “Monday Crew.”
Andy loved renovation projects and was rarely without more than one underway. He had a lifelong passion for classic automobiles, especially Corvairs. Andy and Linda enjoyed attending car shows together and reminiscing about fond memories from years gone by.
Andy will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, service, love of family, and faith. He touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of integrity, and dedication.
After Linda’s passing in July 2025, Andy moved to Abe’s Garden in Nashville. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, caregivers, and staff of Abe’s Garden and Alive Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and comfort they provided to Andy and his family during his final months. Their dedication, compassion, and support were a great blessing and will always be remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 1:00 p.m. at Springfield First United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Jason Jones. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Jaden Taylor Vest, age 29 of White House passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at his home. He was born March 8, 1997 in Hendersonville, TN to Joshua Clayton Vest and Christie Anna Vest. He worked at the Macys Distribution Warehouse in Portland and enjoyed gaming. He was known to be a very generous young man and would give away to anyone in need, even if it meant he didn’t have enough left for himself.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ralph “Doug” Stevenson and his maternal step-grandfather, Dean Crotzer. He is survived by his mother, Christie Vest, White House, TN; father, Joshua (Pam) Vest, Wheeling, WV; brother, Marshall Vest, White House, TN; sister, Amber Skye Vest, Nashville, TN; paternal grandparents; Joe and Mary Vest, White House, TN; maternal grandmother, Brenda Crotzer, White House, TN; paternal great-grandmother, Irene Scranton, Geneseo, IL; 4 Uncles; 1 Aunt; numerous cousins.
