89 Years Old

Joan Elizabeth Hardcastle Wix, 89, of Adams, passed from this life on Tuesday March 17, 2026, at her home. Celebration of Life services will be conducted Monday March 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at South Haven Baptist Church with Dr. Frank Gagliano officiating. Her cremains will be buried alongside her husband, C.D. Wix, in the Adams Cemetery at a future date. The family will receive friends at South Haven Baptist Church on Monday March 23rd from 11:00 a.m. until service time.

Ms. Joan was born March 21, 1936, in Nashville, to the late Willard A. and Virginia Strange Hardcastle. She worked as a bookkeeper for Planter’s Grain for many years, and then retired from the daycare department at South Haven Baptist Church with over 16 years of service. Ms. Joan was an active member of South Haven Baptist Church, where she had a deep love for her church family. She enjoyed baking and was always baking for others. Ms. Joan loved her family, especially all her grandchildren and she always made it a part of her day to pray for her family and friends. She would have celebrated her 90th birthday on Saturday March 21st. Her family was planning a surprise 90th birthday celebration for her, and now she will be celebrating in Heaven with other family and friends that had gone on before her and especially celebrating in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: C.D. Wix, by her son: Dennis Wix, by her daughter: Victoria Chezem, by her siblings: Larry and Judy Hardcastle, and by her grandchildren: Adam Chezem and Kelsey Thaxton. Ms. Joan is survived by her children: Bob Chezem and wife Elizabeth of Cedar Hill, Willard Wayne Wix of Adams, and LeAnne Clinard and husband Raymond of Clarksville, by her grandchildren: Tina (Darrell) Thaxton, Amber (Matt) Goodwin, Chris Horton, Joni (Jaime) Hernandez, Jeremy Wix, Jason Wix, Jon Jon (Tiffany) Wix, Floyd “Bubba” (Stephanie) Clinard, Kim (Kevin) Reynolds), Nathan (Jana) Chezem, and Heather (Tim) Clark, by her 27 great grandchildren, by her 7 great great grandchildren, and by her brother: Ed Hardcastle of Boca Raton, FL.

Larry Donavin Taylor, age 76 of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Martin officiating. Burial will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Middle TN Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Taylor, Donavin Taylor, Michael Shye, Justin Callis, D.J. Hale, and Jim Rice. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 PM until 7 PM and Friday from 10 AM until the time of service.

Larry was born March 11, 1950 in Yuba City, CA to the late Robert William and Dolores Louise Hudson Taylor. He attended Greenridge Church of Christ, was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army, served in the California National Guard, and worked for the United States Air Force Civil Service. He was a member of the VFW, NRA, and DAV. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and bowling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharron Coleman and Katherine Gebczyk.

Surviving him are his wife, Cathy Taylor of Springfield; son, Shawn Taylor of Springfield; daughter, Dawn (Michael) Shye of Coopertown; grandchildren, Nicole Sisco, Donavin Taylor, Alexsea Shye, and Kaydenze Shye; and sister, Connie (Gail) Bartell of Ashland City.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or Make A Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.

Patricia Ann Bellar, age 78 of Adams, passed from this life on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Tristar NorthCrest Medical Center. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 1:00 PM in Bellwood Cemetery in Adams with Bro. Marvin Crouch officiating. Pallbearers will be Edward Tilley, Dwayne Ralph, Mark Bourne, Kenneth Holman, Barry Smith, and Donald Wayne Hobgood. Honorary pallbearers will be the Friends of Stokes Brown Library. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

Pat was born March 20, 1948 in Springfield to the late Robert Earl and Lynda Teasley Bellar. She was a member of Adams Church of Christ and was a longtime employee of Stokes Brown Library where she was the Assistant Director working with the children. She really enjoyed her work at the library and also loved animals, especially cats.

Surviving her are cousins, Lynn Smith of Adams, Frank Smith of Adams, Pam Perry of South Carolina, Betty Lynn Richert of Springfield, Vivian Penuel of White House, Don Bellar of Lakeland, FL, Randy Chester of Georgia and Leann Chester of Florida.

Eddie Watts
April 21, 1960 ~ March 21, 2026
65 Years Old

Eddie was born on April 21, 1960, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Mary Lou Foster Watts and the late Henry “Petey” Owen Watts Sr. He dedicated many years of his career to Anderson Austin News, where he managed magazine routes throughout the Nashville area. Eddie was a believer in Christ, enjoyed reading his bible and attended Radnor Church of Christ. Eddie was a devoted sports fan who especially loved Duke basketball and Tennessee Volunteers football and enjoyed playing church league softball and basketball throughout his adult life.

A celebration of life for Eddie will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tony Dye officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at 2:00 PM.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry “Petey” Owen Watts Sr., and his sisters, Beverly Jean Watts and Mary Anita Adams.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Denise Long Watts; his sisters, Connie Watts, Sherry (Randy) Gipson, and Crystal (Brian) Sweeney; and his brothers, Henry (Melinda) Watts and Bubba (Leann) Watts. He is also survived by his children, Christopher Michael Watts and Whitney Nicole Watts; his stepchildren, Jordan Couts Osborne (Derek), Justin Lee Couts (Emily), and Joshua Cohen Couts (Patricia); and his cherished grandchildren, Wednesday Salem Pierce, Freya Ray Wright, Annabelle Watts, Honey Watts and Lennox Watts, Abigail (James) Cowen, John Robert Couts, Matthew Garrett Couts, Easton Beckett Couts, Ellington Brooke Couts, Tucker Lee Osborne, and Addison Malia Osborne.

Eddie will be remembered for his love of family, detailing cars, and his love of sports. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

J.L. Alley, Jr.

Jesse Lawrence “J.L.” Alley, Jr., 92, of Greenbrier, passed away on Saturday March 21, 2026, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center. Graveside services will be conducted Monday March 30th at 1:00 p.m. in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tim Harris officiating. Pallbearers will be Terry Riley, David Krebs, Randy Dorris, Rory Alley, Trevor Hayes, and Mel Casteel. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

J.L. was born November 15, 1933, in Springfield, to the late Jesse Lawrence “Jay” and Grace Beatrice Lemley Alley. He was a graduate of Greenbrier High School Class of 1951, where he played football for the Bobcats. J.L. worked for BellSouth, that later became AT&T, where he retired from administration with thirty-seven years of service, and he was of the Baptist faith. He was a Ham Radio operator and was part of the MARS network for over 50 years. J.L. loved his land, his cattle, and farming. His greatest love was for his family and for his blue heeler, Apollo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Sybol Faye Alley Dorris. J.L. is survived by his wife of 73 years, Janice Suter Alley of Greenbrier, by his son: Rory Alley of Greenbrier, by his brothers: Donny Alley and wife Tillie of Springfield, Noah Alley and wife Billie of Springfield, and by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Paul Davis

Paul DavisPaul Bryant Davis, age 75, of Ashland City, Tennessee, died Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00PM, on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bill “Willy” Orange officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday from 1:00PM until the time of service at 3:00PM.

Mr. Paul was born on September 3, 1950, in Ashland City, to the late Andrew & Irene Bryant Davis. He was a retired teacher who taught science at Cheatham County Central High School for many years. He was also the Director at the Tennessee Department of Labor Lab and an educator at Corrections Corporation of America. His volunteer service included Youth Chairman of Junior Civitan International, creator and Director of Tennessee Special Olympics Cheatham County, and Santa Claus for the Ashland City Christmas Parade. He was raised and served at Simpkins Chapel United Methodist Church and was a longtime preacher and pastor for Beech Grove Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Andrew “Sonny” Davis; and sister, Brenda June Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debra Davis; daughters, Melissa Davis-Schafer (Josh) and Jennifer Pike (Paul); brothers, David Davis and Steve Davis; sister, Patricia Adcock (Andy); grandchildren, Carly, Joey, Stephen, and Cooper Pike; daughter by heart, Amy Pereira; several loving nieces & nephews; and his beloved cats, Oliver & Gracie.

Ms. Johnson was born September 7, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Earl and Crystal Merritt. She was a Postal Clerk with the U.S. Postal Service for many years.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wiersma; daughter, Rusti Wiersma; brother, Kenneth Merritt; and sisters, Sharon Merritt and Dorothy Merritt.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Elvis) Bellar, Jr.; son, Ryan (Michelle Lane) Wiersma; 6 grandchildren, Justin Simon, Shawn (Ariel) Simon, Luke Bellar, Torri (Justin) Duff, Abbi Lane and Evan Lane; and 8 great grandchildren, Gavan Simon, Emory Simon, Riley Simon, Acacia Simon, Adaline Sego, Annabell Sego, Jack Duff and Samuel Bentley.

He was a plumber who was a member of the UA Local 572 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union. He was wild & reckless, but was loved by all. He was very passionate about family – he loved them “Big”! Zachary was a Christian.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry Osborne & Joan Cogdell and Harold Slark, Sr.; and his brother, Dillon Osborne.

She was full of life, loved her Tennessee Lady Vols and her family and friends. She passed away peacefully in her sleep and loved Henrietta where she lived out the rest of her life. She is now in Heaven with her parents and siblings and was a member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Lee.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charlie Brown, a retired Nashville Firefighter; 3 nieces and 1 nephew that will remain unnamed; and cousins, David White and Linda Gasses, both of Georgia.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, GREAT grandmother, member of GreenRidge Church of God of Prophecy, and a loving friend to all. She loved her church as well as traveling and singing with her sisters. Faye is survived by her daughter in law, Suzanne Stubblefield of Greenbrier, TN, daughter at heart, Melissa Pulley of Greenbrier, TN, her granddaughters Lauren (Tyler) Stribling of Greenbrier, TN and Renee (Michael) Treadaway of Aiken, SC. She is also survived by her GREAT grandchildren Samantha, Isabella, Avery, and Alexis Tisdale of Greenbrier, TN and the expected bundle of joy Addiley Treadaway of Aiken, SC; sisters, Lula (Billy) Glover of Pulaski, TN, Francis (James) Smotherman of Shelbyville, TN, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and family members. Howard M. Eidson

Howard M. EidsonHoward D. Manford Eidson, age 91, of Greenbrier, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. Born on February 19, 1935, Mr. Eidson lived a long and meaningful life devoted to his family, his country, and his community. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 57 years, Thelma Allgood Eidson; his parents, Elford and Mary Turner Eidson; and his brother, Elford Eidson, Jr.

Howard is survived by his loving son, Terry (Alice) Eidson. He was a proud grandfather to Amanda (Matthew) Dunlap and Joshua (Rachel) Eidson, and a cherished great-grandfather to Monroe and Howard Dunlap, Olivia, Kaitlyn, Henry, and Jack Eidson. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Meyer, along with several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and his special friend and companion, Betty Holt.

Mr. Eidson proudly served his country in the United States Army as a member of the 11th Airborne Division, serving as a paratrooper following the Korean War.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, March 26th in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Joshua Eidson, Matthew Dunlap, Ronnie Weaver, Bob Smith, Nick Kimmons and Robert McQuiston serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5pm until 7pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 and again on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the funeral home.

Howard will be remembered for his incredible work ethic and the pride he took in providing for his family. He shared a particularly close and enduring bond with his only son, Terry, and together they spent many years owning and operating their own business, building not only a livelihood but a legacy of dedication and perseverance.

His unwavering commitment to his family, his quiet strength, and the example he set through a lifetime of hard work will be deeply missed and long remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Ankenbauer (Shayela) Lafayette, TN; several cousins.
