Randy Wright
May 11, 1979 ~ March 20, 2025 (age 45)
Randal Corey “Randy” Wright, 45, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday March 20, 2025. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday March 25th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Eddie Bellar officiating. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery with Shawn Monfette, Shaun McGhee, Shane Head, Mikey Farmer, Dustin Wilkins, and Dewayne Leftrick serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Randy was born May 11, 1979, in Clarksville. He had worked in the electrical field and was of the Baptist faith. Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid sports fan, especially Duke basketball and Miami Dolphins football. He was preceded in death by the mother of his son: Stacey Collins.
Randy is survived by his daughter: Abbi (Bailey) Bishop of Turnersville, by his son: Jaxon Kade Wright of Culleoka, by his grandchild: Beau Bishop, by his parents: Bill and Pam Wright of Springfield, by his brother: Jeff (Holly) Wright of Greenbrier, by his sister: Carey Wright Clinard of Springfield, by his former wife: Jennifer Searcy of Springfield, and by the mother of his daughter: Amanda Putnam of Turnersville.

Lavone (Mayes) Worsham
January 9, 1941 ~ March 21, 2025 (age 84)
Lavone Mayes Worsham, 84, of Springfield, passed from this life on Friday March 21, 2025, at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday March 27th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with her grandson, JR Edens officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with John Worsham, Derek Baldwin, Andy Mayes, Allen Mayes, Marshall Moore, and Alton Mayes serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Lavone was born January 9, 1941, in Greenbrier, to the late Jack C. and Margie Ellen Arnold Mayes. She retired from Acme Boot, Wilson Sporting Goods, and then retired as an embroider from Professional Bags. Lavone was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ, where she enjoyed being a part of the Ladies Bible Class that met on Tuesday’s. She loved sewing, embroidery, painting, and reading. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Worsham, by her grandson, Specialist Jason Edens, and by her siblings: Melbiurn Mayes, Charles Mayes, and Linda Mayes Moore. Lavone is survived by her children: Judy (Cliff) Gregory of Springfield, Jerry (Pam) Worsham of Springfield, and Jan (Jim) Edens of Lebanon, by her grandchildren: Sheree (JP) Postlewait, Becca Gregory, JR Edens, John Worsham, and Lyndsey (Derek) Baldwin, and by her eight great grandchildren.
Lavone’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of NHC Healthcare in Springfield for the wonderful care and love shown to her.

Gordon Powell
October 16, 1948 ~ March 21, 2025 (age 76)
Keith Gordon Powell, 76, of Adams, passed away on Friday March 21, 2025, at his home. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday March 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Kevin Brown and Paul Chesley officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday March 29th from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Gordon was born October 16, 1948, in Clarksville, to the late Gordon Keith and Mildred Davis Powell. He was a graduate of Clarksville High School Class of 1966, was a member of the National PLOTT Hound Association, and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Gordon began his working career building and painting steel towers and working on the pipeline across the Country. Because he so loved being outdoors and being an enthusiast in woodsman ship, he retired as a timber logger. Gordon was a hound’s man, and he always enjoyed hunting especially for bears, coons, and squirrels. He was always smart and inquisitive and was a man that enjoyed history and reading. Gordon never met a stranger and was always a mentor to those around him, especially to younger people. His door was always open and you were welcome in his home whether you had two legs or four legs. Gordon was a friend to all and if you were his friend, he was always your best friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Joseph Davis Powell and by his grandson: Wyatt Layne Powell. Gordon is survived by his children: Jesse (Tara) Powell of Adams, Kyle Powell Wallace of Adams, and Matt (Leanna) Powell of Cedar Hill, by his grandchildren: Everett Cole Wallace, Aleeah Peyton Powell, Gunner Slade Hagenbuch, Lyla Grace Hurst, Ezekiel James Hurst, Axel Ray Powell, and Paisley Rae Powell, by his sisters: Irene Powell Hudson of Springfield and Beth Powell Mitchell of Springfield, and by his nephews: Joey Powell, Chris Powell, Keith Powell, and Robert Hurtt.

Jane Christiansen
December 11, 1936 — March 9, 2025
Nashville, TN
Mary Jane Christiansen, lovingly known as Jane, age 88, went to be home with the Lord on March 9th, 2025. Jane was born in Nashville, TN, on December 12th, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Novella and Gordon Tanksley. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Roy and Gordon Tanksley. Jane is reunited in heaven with her husband of 69 years Maurice Roland Christiansen. She is survived by her children John (Rhonda) Christiansen and Cynthia (Chris) Ellis. She is also survived by her grandchildren John Christiansen, Reece (Mary Grace) Christiansen, Carson Ellis, Cameron Ellis, Cole Ellis, and Carlie Ellis, and her three great grandchildren Hattie, Millie, and Reed. Although she is gone, her memory will forever reside within them.
Jane was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a thoughtful type of individual; always keeping an eye out for her family and friends. Whether it was a tangible gift or even comforting words of wisdom, she was always there to provide whatever was needed in that moment.
Jane was a woman of strong Christian faith. She was a long-time member of the North Side Church of Christ. Raising her children within the church there and attending services up until she was no longer able.
In her free time, she liked to spend time outdoors. Her family recalls her spending hours outside gardening and tending to her flower beds. She would even turn it into a family affair, recruiting her grandchildren to help water the flowers. Her daughter recalls her being very good with her hands. Jane liked to sew, crafting garments with a particular care as she made each stitch into the fabric. She would even go on to make her daughter’s wedding dress.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Mary Jane Christiansen will be held on Thursday, March 27th, 2025. Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, located at 127 N. Main St., Goodlettsville, TN 37072. Visitation will begin at 10am, then promptly at 12pm our Funeral Service will begin. Interment will follow Funeral Services at Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery.

Wanda Nell Smothers
March 5, 1935 – March 17, 2025
Wanda Nell Hopkins Smothers, age 90, of Springfield, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Arbors of Springfield. Graveside services will be conducted at 11am Friday, March 21st in the Camden City Cemetery in Camden, TN.
The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Thursday, March 20th, at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield
Mrs. Smothers was a truly loving and devoted soul. She was born March 5, 1935, in Linden, TN, to the late Sam and Eula Hopkins. Wanda grew up in Brazil, TN, where she made lasting memories and excelled as Captain of her high school basketball team at Springhill High School.
Her strong work ethic began early, as she spent her summers picking cotton to fund her education at the University of Tennessee at Martin. While at UT Martin, she worked at Ma’s Boarding House, where she met the love of her life, Bobby Smothers. They were married in 1956 and spent over 50 years together building a life filled with love and laughter.
Wanda dedicated nearly 40 years of service to the Tennessee Department of Human Services, where her compassion and hard work touched countless lives. She found peace and joy working in her garden, often retreating there to find solace from her “four bad kids.”
A true fan of sports, Wanda loved cheering on the Tennessee Lady Vols. She also had a deep passion for travel, especially to Las Vegas, where she celebrated her milestone birthdays. Her love of music spanned generations, with a special place in her heart for Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, and Jimmy Buffett. Wanda’s friendship and loyalty were evident in the bond she shared with a close-knit group of ladies with whom she played bridge for over 50 years.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Bobby Smothers; her son, Tracy Smothers; her sister, Peggy Gayle Freeman; and her brother, Rex Hopkins.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff Smothers (Jackie) of Springfield, TN, and Sammy Smothers of Stewart, TN; her daughter, Allyson Smothers of Germantown, TN; and her grandchildren, Matthew Proctor (Morgan) of Clarksville, Kami Brooke Spurlock (Steve) of Greenbrier, Kyle Robert Smothers of Springfield, and Christopher Alan Smothers (Stephanie) of Hendersonville. She is also survived by five great-granddaughters, Ava, Ali, Caroline, Madelyn, and Savannah Allyson, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she truly adored.

July 30, 1978 – March 20, 2025
Lori Amber Johnson, age 46 of White House passed away March 20, 2025 at The Residence of Alive Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 30, 1978 In Clarksdale, Mississippi to Mark and Beverly Sledge Johnson. She worked as a beautician for Great Clips. She enjoyed reading and spending time at Dale Hollow Lake. She loved spending time with her children more than anything else. Lori is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. James M. Johnson and her maternal grandparents, TR & Bobbie Sledge.
She is survived by her parents, Mark & Beverly Johnson, Goodlettsville, TN; son, Austin (Raegan) White, Lebanon, TN; daughter, Aubryn White; brother, William (Nicole) Johnson; sister, Megan Johnson, niece, Frannie Johnson, all of Ridgetop, TN; Significant other and loving caregiver, Joshua Jones, White House, TN; Father of her children, Barry White, Ridgetop, TN.; Zeus, her loyal Husky canine companion.

Eugene Ralph Adams ” Big Gene”, age 75 of Cottontown, TN passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Nashville VA Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1950 in Beaver, PA to Harold & Alma Gamble Adams. He worked in the construction industry until his retirement and attended Milldale Presbyterian Church. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, racing, NASCAR, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Keith Neal Adams. Sara Jane Doss

Sara Jane Doss, age 94, of Springfield, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 at NHC Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 10am Monday, March 24th at the Barren Plains Baptist Church with Deacon Clyde Dean and Pastor Sam Andavazo officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Nathan Doss, Matt Miller, Jacob Gingerich, Joseph Gingerich, Michael Doss, and Cayce Miller serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Doss was born February 6, 1931 in Robertson County, to the late Vernon Booker Hughes and the late Virginia Alma “Virgie” Holland Hughes. She was a Clerk with the State of Tennessee for many years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Doss was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Stone Doss; brothers, Glenn Hughes and Rayburn Hughes; and sisters, Annie Marie Murphy and Eva Lorelle McGhee.
She is survived by her son, Jeff (Cheryl) Doss; daughters, Hilda (Chip) Miller and Ginger (Jake) Gingerich; 6 grandchildren, Nathan (Laura) Doss, Joseph (Margaret) Gingerich, Cayce Miller, Michael (Auburn) Doss, Matt (Jenna) Miller and Jacob Gingerich; and 9 great grandchildren.
