One Hospitalized In Unusual Accident In Springfield

One vehicle ended up on top of another in an unusual three vehicle accident in Springfield Tuesday.

Thankfully no one was seriously injured. One person was transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield with minor injuries and two others refused treatment, according to Robertson County E.M.S. Assistant Director Russell Gupton.

According to police at the scene, all three vehicles were in the same lane. The accident is still under investigation but preliminarily police said it appears as though the Ford Edge bumped the ZX5 Focus which in turn bumped into the SUV. Due to the nature of the rear bumper design and height of the SUV the ZX5 Focus slipped under it.

It appeared to witnesses that someone must have been seriously injured but thankfully that was not the case. In a sea of strange fatal accidents lately it’s good to be able to say on one was seriously injured.

Responding to the scene was Springfield Fire, Robertson County EMS and Robertson County Emergency Management Agency.

Video report coming soon.
